What caused Amelia and Bennett to split up?

Fans who had high expectations that Amelia and Bennett would be one of the few Married at First Sight couples to survive are now dismayed by the couple’s separation.

Others believed Amelia’s demanding career and Bennett’s profound ties to New Orleans contributed to their relationship problems.

Some individuals believed that they would be better off as companions than as spouses. There were indications from the beginning that Amelia was not fully committed to the concept of Married at First Sight.

She admitted in a 2020 interview that she only participated in the program for fun and not to find a husband.

Bennett, on the other hand, did not intend to get married, but he ended up on the program after a casting director contacted him and they had a lengthy conversation, which led to his decision to participate in the process.

Bennett and Amelia decided on Decision Day of Married, at First Sight, to remain together and get married. However, on October 14, 2021, the couple publicly proclaimed their divorce without citing specific reasons, leaving fans to speculate as to what went wrong. Some people were not completely shocked by the news.

Within a few days of the announcement, rumors began to circulate that Amelia’s demanding medical career and Bennett’s deep connections to New Orleans may have contributed to their relationship problems.

Due to Amelia’s lack of dedication to the show, many viewers believed that the couple would be happier as friends and that their romantic relationship would not last.
