Steve Spagnuolo has a net worth of over $9 million. The Chiefs coach previously made $2 million in 2007 with the Giants and has been in the NFL for over 20 years.

Last year, Vic Fangio was voted the NFL’s highest-paid defensive coordinator. So, this year, it could be Steve Spagnuolo’s turn; after all, he’s ready to play in his third Super Bowl with the Chiefs. When Steve joined the Chiefs in 2019, their defense was ranked among the worst in the league.

He was tasked with improving the team’s defense, which ranked 31st. The Chiefs concluded the season with a Super Bowl championship under their belt. Spagnuolo is the only defensive coordinator in NFL history who has won a Super Bowl with two clubs.

He had won his first with the Giants. He made his sixth Super Bowl appearance and won his third championship last year. With a win over Brock Purdy’s 49ers on February 11, Spagnuolo may become the first four-time Super Bowl-winning coordinator on either side of the ball.

Steve Spagnuolo’s Net Worth and Salary 2024

Steve Spagnuolo, the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, easily makes seven figures. Spagnuolo, a veteran, made $2 million with the New York Giants in 2008. Spagnuolo began his coaching career at Massachusetts in 1981, and his first NFL position came in 1999 with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Spagnuolo became one of the league’s highest-paid assistants when he signed a $2 million contract with the Giants in 2008. A year later, following another successful season with the Giants, Steve was approached by the Rams to become their head coach. The New York Times reported in January 2009 that Steve had agreed to a four-year, $11.5 million contract with the Rams.

Before joining the Rams, Spagnuolo had a perfect coaching record. However, his three seasons with the Rams garnered him a misleading nickname in the media. He concluded his career with a 10–38 record and no postseason appearances. He returned to his prior role as defensive coordinator in 2012 and rejoined the Giants in 2015.

In 2017, he was named interim head coach but was unable to take over as head coach. Pat Shurmur has been recruited by the Giants for a five-year contract worth $30 million. He signed with the Chiefs in 2019, but the details of his contract have never been published. Vic Fangio will become the highest-paid defensive coordinator in 2023 after joining the Miami Dolphins.

Fangio signed a three-year, $13.5 million contract with the Dolphins, but the two have since parted ways. So it’s not unexpected that Steve will become the league’s second-highest-paid defensive coordinator when he leads the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl.

Steve Spagnuolo’s Family

Steve Spagnuolo, a veteran NFL coach, married Maria Spagnuolo, whom he met on a blind date. He had little interest in dating and only agreed to go on a blind date after being convinced by his friends. Steve and Maria were raised in a religious household and intended to marry at a church in Rome.

They married in 2005 after several years of dating. In an interview, Steve’s mother, Carol, stated, “She was sent by God to be his wife.” The former hairdresser and NFL coach has already performed philanthropic acts. In an interview in 2020, Steve described his wife, Maria, as the most generous person.

During his interview, the NFL coach stated that Maria taught him that money does not transform people, but rather reveals their actual nature. Steve stated that he and Maria want to assist others in honor of Father God. They do this not only financially, but also with their time and resources.

Steve explained that he and Maria had given their playoff bonus from Super Bowl XLII to God. He also revealed that his wife had found a juvenile home in the Bronx, New York, to help the children. Although several reports indicate that the couple has five children, the Chiefs coach has never mentioned them.
