Rosa Salazar, except for the occasional restraining order, is one of the least controversial celebrities there is. She has never been the one to speak up too much in front of the camera, and she hardly ever uses social media since she doesn’t even have one.

As a result, you have to question whether online inquiries regarding Salazar’s homophobia are even accurate and if they are, why.

Rosa Salazar is she homophobic?

The truthful response is that we are unsure. There is no evidence that she is anything like that on the internet.

Salazar is not the subject of any such allegations on Twitter, which is typically flooded with irrational claims from irrational people that a particular celebrity is a racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc.

Her name and the phrase “homophobic” are only found in one tweet, which was posted by olle. Furthermore, it appears that the tweet is a jest rather than a charge against Salazar.

In the tweet, olle claims that no one was being homophobic when discussing Brand New Cherry Flavor, a sitcom in which Salazar starred as the main character and that they were “not here for it.”

They were merely criticizing the lack of social media discussion surrounding the film, which they believed Salazar and her co-star Catherine Keener to be outstanding in.

What Led to Questions About Rosa Salazar’s “Homophobia”?

There doesn’t seem to be much information about Salazar and her apparent homophobia on the internet. There are tertiary connections between the actress and the word, though.

A lot of buzzes was created for the 2017 film, directed by Dax Shepard and starring Michael Pea, Salazar, and all of them. While the entire film received criticism for being unfunny, one joke, in particular, received the majority of the attention and was held largely responsible for the accusations of homophobia the film received.

A violent face-to-face encounter between two men occurs in a scene in the film. Other obvious homophobic elements included Pena’s persona, Ponch’s peculiar aversion to touching another naked man in a non-sexual setting, and an excess of intimate jokes and misogynistic remarks.

The 2019 James Cameron-directed film, while praised by many for what it was and Salazar’s portrayal of the protagonist character, also drew criticism for its antiquated ideas, according to certain reviews.

Some claim that the film has become the standard for what an excellent film with a female lead should be like among members of the alt-right. And because of this, many claimed, the film served as a vehicle for the spread of divisive and misogynistic views.

It was even alleged that Alita: Battle Angel was chosen by the alt-right to compete with Captain Marvel from Marvel, a film that received great criticism for pushing its ideology on viewers.

Salazar had nothing to do with any of this, but it was only inevitable that her name would come up.
