Following her sensational portrayal of Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie gained international fame.

When HBO declined to nominate her for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, she infamously submitted her name and received one.

The actress explained her choice in an interview with the LA Times.

“I double-checked to make sure it wasn’t inappropriate, and I was informed that it wasn’t. People constantly subordinate themselves. As a testimony to the persona and what I believe she stands for, I had to do it, said Christie.

She did not win an Emmy, but her daring move garnered media attention. In actuality, her professional life has received a lot of attention while her personal life has received virtually little.

Fans wonder why the actress likes to keep her private life hidden from the media’s prying eyes.

Gwendoline Christie: Is She Married?

Christie is not married if that answers your question. However, she had been in a committed relationship with Giles Deacon, one of the most coveted British fashion designers, since 2012.

Following his graduation from the esteemed St. Martin’s College of Art and Design in London, Deacon has spent most of his career dressing A-list celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Solange Knowles, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

But dressing as a member of the royal family was the pinnacle of his professional career.

When Pippa Middleton married hedge fund manager James Matthews in 2017, the designer made her a lace wedding dress.

Christie has also been dressed by Deacon. She served as the main source of inspiration for his debut couture collection, he revealed to The Telegraph in 2016. He admitted that he enjoyed working with his girlfriend and called her a “wonderful inspiration.”

The designer revealed to Grazia UK that his lover was more than just a great muse for his creation—he was in love with her.

“I first met Gwendoline six years ago through a common friend, and I fell in love right away. She was exceptional to me for a thousand different reasons. The designer told the newspaper, “The way she carries herself was unlike anything I’d seen before.

Gwendoline Christie Backs Up Her Spouse

The actress loves to wear Deacon’s creations and is highly supportive of her boyfriend, even though he enjoys making things for Christie.

She claimed to be wearing Deacon’s dress from the Spring/Summer 2016 collection when she spoke about him to InStyle in 2015; the collection was going to be displayed at London Fashion Week.

“I genuinely think he’s a talented artist. One of my favorite designers, he possesses a stunning visual vision and a well developed sense of discipline. I believe it should be acknowledged since that kind of artist is uncommon, she continued.

The two collaborate frequently. For instance, Deacon created two gowns for Christie when she played Titania and Hippolyta in a new production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at London’s Bridge Theater.

According to her statement to Vogue, “having her strength and Giles’s strength” enabled her to occupy the space and tell the tale.
