Charlie Knuth, a courageous adolescent from the Fox Valley who heroically overcame several health challenges before his untimely death at age 17, was a fighter.

Knuth’s mom Trisha posted an emotional update on Facebook on Friday night, expressing her shock and grief and thanking friends and family for their support.

Charlie Knuth’s Death Announcement and Diagnosis

Friends of the family claim that Knuth was taken to the hospital earlier this week for treatment of pneumonia and septic shock.

Knuth’s condition deteriorated, so he was transferred to Children’s Wisconsin in Wauwatosa, where he was placed on a breathing machine in the intensive care unit.

On Thursday morning, Charlie was evacuated from ThedaCare Regional Medical Center to Children’s Wisconsin Hospital in Milwaukee, according to a Facebook post by close family friend Tara Lucia.

On Wednesday at 5 o’clock in the evening, he became ill, and at 12 o’clock in the evening, his mother called 911.

Throughout the years, the Fox Valley community has shown the Knuths nothing but kindness and generosity. They will definitely come together again now to help.

Charlie, who has endured serious health problems for quite some time, has been supported by an incredibly united community.

When he was only six years old, he helped plan a carnival to raise money, which brought in over $5,000.

Adopted soon after birth, Charlie suffers from the genetic condition epidermolysis bullosa, which causes his skin to blister readily.

Due to the absence of a skin-binding gene, his illness manifested both outwardly and inside in the form of blistering.

Young Darboy: Charlie Knuth’s Fatal Skin Disease

Darboy boy Charlie Knuth died of a very unusual skin condition. Charlie’s battle was defined by frequent blistering and fragility due to a rare disease damaging his skin.

He was an inspiration of unyielding tenacity and bravery despite suffering unimaginable anguish.

Knuth had a unique skin ailment that caused him tremendous pain and numerous infections, but he never let that dampen his enthusiasm for life.

At the age of eight, he was given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside the legendary rock band Pearl Jam at a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Charlie’s life has been marked by a series of medical interventions due to his battle with epidermolysis bullosa, a hereditary condition that causes the skin to blister and peel.

He began using CBD regularly to help with his anxiety. The family’s supply of bandages covered in CBD cream, which had previously provided relief, has just run out.

Despite his disabilities, Charlie was able to enjoy himself and get some exercise by using a mobility trike.

Charlie’s mom, Trisha, had good memories of seeing Pearl Jam perform in 2014. The lead vocalist, Eddie Vedder, directed Charlie’s waves to various parts of the crowd, inspiring an exciting reaction from the tens of thousands in attendance.

All who knew Knuth were moved by his strength and his ability to find happiness despite his many hardships.

Charlie was in chronic pain, but he still wanted to live, become a father, and find love.

Trisha reaffirmed the family’s undying affection for Charlie, saying they’d pick him again and again to be their son.

Charlie had a significant impact on the Knuth family and the community, and their ability to persevere and love unconditionally is a monument to that.
