Tyra Sanchez, a.k.a. James William Ross IV, is a well-known American drag queen and reality television personality who won Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and took home $25,000.

Ross made a triumphant comeback as “King Tyra” on September 14, 2022, after he had left his Tyra Sanchez role in March 2020. This appearance was made only on his OnlyFans platform.

Who Is American Drag Queen Tyra Sanchez Dating in 2023?

Sanchez gave birth to a child at the early age of 17 while still a high school student.

Tyra had intended to wed Jeremiah’s mother, Cynthia, but after learning of his homosexuality, they decided to stay friends without getting married.

Tyra raised Jeremiah by herself after Cynthia was unable to care for their kid. Trouble started, though, when Cynthia charged Tyra with being a deadbeat father and neglecting to support the family in 2015.

This ran counter to Tyra’s representation of their connection on RuPaul’s Drag Race, where he even produced a documentary called Drag Dad in 2012 to highlight their relationship.

Things appeared to be looking up in 2017 when Tyra posted about becoming a father for the second time, despite the fact that he never addressed the charges.

When discussing his romantic relationships after coming out as homosexual, Sanchez remained circumspect.

He intentionally chose to withhold this information from his supporters and admirers.

Tyra has established a separation between his private and public selves, putting more of an emphasis on his professional life and other facets of his life that he chooses to share with his audience.

In order to manage his personal life on his terms, he made this choice in order to protect his privacy and control the information he publishes about his relationships.

Ty Sanchez Family Information

Sanchez’s family has a long history with drag and stage performances. His drag mother, Orlando-based performer Angelica Sanchez Jones, was a part of the Haus of Sanchez.

Tyra’s drag grandma Stasha Sanchez, a pageant icon, created The Haus of Sanchez. Tyra found support, motivation, and direction as he started his drag career inside this drag family.

Tyra-Symoné Sanchez, her drag name, has deep significance. The name “Tyra” is derived from his niece Tyra Nicole and has the potent meaning of “God of Battle.”

Tyra’s strength and perseverance are reflected in her choice of name, which was motivated by his niece’s early birth and struggle for survival. Tyra loves the musician, Raven-Symoné, thus she decided to include “Symoné” in the song.

Tyra wanted a brand-new persona for his post-retirement comeback that would also reflect his gender identity outside of drag.

He, therefore, settled on “King Tyra,” a drag persona that strikes a balance between masculinity and the drag community. Tyra was able to embrace the artistry and creativity connected with drag while still claiming his identity as a man thanks to this name change.

Sanchez’s family has been a key influence on his drag character throughout his journey, offering a welcoming environment that values uniqueness and self-expression.

The sons of Sanchez are scarce and hard to come by. However, it is known that Tyra gave birth to his first child at the age of 17, and that son’s name is Jeremiah.

Tyra’s second kid, who was alluded to in a tweet from 2017, is still unnamed.
