The renowned American rapper Yo Gotti, real name Mario Mims, gives his parents, especially his mother Geraldine Mims, credit for his long and prosperous career.

Under the nickname Lil Yo, Gotti entered the rap industry for the first time at the age of 14. His debut album, Youngsta’s On a Come Up, was released in 1996.

With releases of albums such as From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game, Self-Explanatory, Life, and Back 2 da Basics in the early 2000s, Gotti gradually established his reputation and discography.

Songs like “5 Star” and “Women Lie, Men Lie” helped Gotti become even more well-known.

Gotti’s status as a major player in the rap industry has been solidified by his more recent albums, I Am, The Art of Hustle, I Still Am, Untrapped, and CM10: Free Game.

After more than 25 years of a successful career, Yo Gotti is known for his trap-inspired sounds and shrewd lyricism.

Yo Gotti is a seasoned Memphis rapper who has established himself with a large discography.

Yo Gotti’s parents

Born Mario Mims in 1981, Yo Gotti grew up in Memphis, Tennessee’s housing complexes.

Gotti’s parents, while coming from modest beginnings, had a big impact on his life.

His father was of Zimbabwean heritage and a gym instructor.

Geraldine Mims, his mother, was originally from South Africa.

In Memphis, Gotti’s aunts and uncles, as well as his parents, were all engaged in street hustling.

Gotti was first introduced to the city’s criminal element as a result of this.

Police detained Gotti’s parents and other family members during a raid on their house when he was in the second grade. Gotti was forced into the streets and had to fend for himself as a result.

However, Gotti’s parents also shaped his Christianity by imparting religious ideals.

Gotti’s background, which was divided between faith and criminality, was mirrored in his subsequent musical endeavors.

His lyrics frequently have spiritual overtones while portraying the grim reality of Memphis’ communities.

All things considered, Gotti’s parents had a significant influence on his early hardships and distinctive musical style.

Geraldine Mims, the mother and father of Yo Gotti

Gotti was affected by both of his parents, but Geraldine Mims, his mother, was especially significant.

When he was younger, Gotti saw his mother hustle illegally to support the family.

However, she also instilled in Gotti a strong religious belief by taking him to church and prayer meetings.

Gotti’s views and songs were shaped by this contradiction.

Additionally, Gotti was given a significant African heritage by Geraldine Mims. Mims, who was originally from South Africa, taught Gotti about his ancestry.

Likewise, Gotti started to take pleasure in his African heritage.

Gotti has embraced his multicultural upbringing in his music. Songs like “African” honor his African heritage.

Beyond her influence on culture, Gotti was drawn to Geraldine Mims’ hustler lifestyle.

He discovered that themes of adversity, criminality, and tenacity from Memphis’ rap scene resonated with him from an early age.

Details About Yo Gotti’s Family

Beneath his ostentatious exterior, Yo Gotti is a loving husband and parent.

Six of the rapper’s past romances produced him with children.

Kayla and Mariah Mims are Gotti’s two daughters from his previous marriage to Lakeisha Mims.

His previous partner Jammie Moses gave birth to three more children, the identities of whom are still unknown.

Moreover, Gotti is well-known for having dated TV personality Angela Simmons for a while, even taking her on a public date in Memphis, his birthplace.

Gotti has put his role as a current parent first through it all.

On social media, he frequently brags about his children, celebrating their accomplishments and birthdays.

For example, Gotti gave his daughter Kayla a brand-new, high-end SUV for her 16th birthday.

Even with his busy schedule, the rapper finds time to enjoy being a father.

Although he keeps his kids’ life private, he never hesitates to express to his supporters how pleased he is of his family.

Even though Yo Gotti presents a glamorous image, parenting is still very important to who he is.
