He was chosen as the 2004 Soccer Star of the Year for Zimbabwe. In the 2006 AFCON, he played for Zimbabwe and scored once against Ghana in a 2 -1 triumph.

Cephas successfully represented CAPS United and Harare powerhouse Dynamos throughout his nine-year playing career. Chimedza, a Churchill School alumnus, joined DeMbare’s rival CAPS United in 2004, the same year he was rightfully named Soccer Star of the Year. To the delight of United supporters who had been at the National Sports Stadium watching beautiful football being played during that season when the ground-breaking Charles Mhlauri-led Green Machine was essentially unbeatable, Chimedza is remembered most for kissing the ball during a match against the Chinda Boys, Shabanie Mine.

Like his wife, who the sportsman hasn’t given the world many details about, Cephas likewise keeps some of his personal information private.
