DeOrr Kunz Jr., 2, unexpectedly vanished on July 10, 2015, around 2:40 p.m. while camping in Lemhi County, Idaho.

Along with his parents, Jessica Mitchell and DeOrr Kunz Sr., his great-grandfather Bob Walton, and Isaac Reinwand, a friend of Walton’s, the infant traveled.

The victim’s parents thought Robert Walton, the victim’s grandpa, was keeping an eye on DeOrr Jr. at the Timber Creek Campground. Robert and Isaac were both thinking about the victim at the same time.

DeOrr hasn’t been seen in more than five years, despite the fact that no one has been accused of being responsible for his disappearance.

Former Lemhi County Sheriff Lynn Bowerman suspected Mitchell and Kunz Sr. in January 2016, but they were never detained or prosecuted, and the investigation is still ongoing.

Who Are Jessica Mitchell and Vernal DeOrr Kunz, the parents of Baby Deorr?

Deorr Kunz Jr., 2, and his parents, Jessica Mitchell and Vernal DeOrr Kunz Senior, were at the Timber Creek Campground, 10 miles east of Challis in Idaho, when they vanished.

Separate 911 calls made by the parents, police interviews, and more evidence led to an inquiry that produced more questions than it did answers.

Shortly after their kid vanished, Jessica Mitchell and Vernal Kunz called off their engagement, got married again, and left the state.

According to Lynn Bowerman, sheriff of Lemhi County, his parents had gone down a stream not far from the campground to go fishing with Reinwand. DeOrr Jr. pursued the three people.

Authorities sent K9 dogs and specialized teams after his parents reported him missing to investigate the area around the campground where he was last seen, concentrating on Timber Creek and Stone Reservoir.

Furthermore, despite the fact that three private investigators have looked into the issue, no conclusive proof of DeOrr’s location has been found.

Family and Ethnicity of Baby Deorr

DeOrr Jay Kunz Jr., the victim, was born on December 30, 2012, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jessica Mitchell and her then-fiancé, Vernal DeOrr Kunz Sr.

White people make up Baby Deorr’s ethnicity, and he is an American citizen.

Other family members said that Mitchell and Vernal’s choice to go camping and fishing on July 10, 2015, was spontaneous and unexpected.

When questioned by the police, other family members Reinwand and Walton, who were at Campaign, also said they had no clue where the youngster was.

The unseen video, comprising hours of recorded conversations with family members and friends, was released as part of HLN’s Real Life Nightmare series in November 2019. The case was revisited during that time.

Did They Find Any Lead in the Baby Deorr Case Update?

With the exception of ongoing litigation between the family and a private investigator, the matter has been largely quiet in public in recent months.

An animal bone discovered at the campground in June 2019 was revealed to be unrelated to the missing youngster after months of examination at the FBI’s Quantico, Virginia, headquarters.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children published a snapshot of DeOrr Kunz Jr. as he grew older in 2017.

The Baby Deorr Missing investigation is still open and ongoing as of the time this story was being written, according to Lemhi County Sheriff Steve Penner.

Former sheriff Lynn Bowerman departed after winning the 2017 election, and Steve Penner is now in charge of the investigation as both the main investigator and investigator in chief.

Inconsistencies in testimonies were made public in January 2016, and authorities claimed that his parents had failed repeated polygraph exams, making Mitchell and DeOrr Sr. the case’s top suspects.
