Eddie Lacy played for the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. In his final season with the squad, Lacy lined up for the University of Alabama and put up excellent stats. With more than 1,300 running yards and 17 rushing touchdowns, he had a successful 2012 campaign.

Lacy was chosen by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The big but quick running back had two outstanding seasons with the Packers, averaging more than 1000 yards each time. But his demise was exacerbated by his weight problems. Before departing the NFL, he had a poor run with the Seattle Seahawks.

Where Is He Now?

Coach Mike McCarthy said in his season-ending news conference that Lacy would lose playing time if he didn’t manage his weight after a disappointing third season with the Packers.

He needs to do a lot of work, McCarthy added. He is unable to play at the weight he did this year. Eddie used the feedback from the public as inspiration, and by the start of the following season, he had shed 22 pounds. In the first five games, he appeared to be back to his best, but a season-ending ankle injury halted his development.

Being immobile caused Lacy to put on the weight she had lost. Eddie told ESPN, “I just got bigger.” You can just sit still and eat, I’m afraid. Where do you go from here? Eddie left the Packers as a free agent the next year and started looking for a new team.

The Seattle Seahawks took a chance on him and gave him bonuses to encourage him to maintain a healthy weight. Although the plan was successful, Eddie detested the fact that his weigh-ins had become a public spectacle.

Lacy said to ESPN,

“I hate that it has to be public. “Because it’s like, what happens if you don’t make it? Without a doubt, you lose the money, but whatever. That doesn’t concern me. It’s just more of the bad things that will happen. After his one-year contract, Eddie left the Packers.

He stated,

“Although Lacy participated in a workout with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019, the team didn’t offer him a contract. Eddie’s agent told Roll Tide Wire that a comeback to the NFL is doubtful. I do not anticipate Eddie returning to his NFL career at this time,”.

A Twitter user questioned Eddie if he was thinking about making a comeback after hearing that Tim Tebow was trying to get back into the NFL. An NFL comeback appears to be out of the question, according to the GIF he shared in response.

Eddie spends a lot of time with his family, as evidenced by his Instagram profile. According to an Instagram post from December 11th, 2020, Eddie may be working on something. He shared pictures from his post-exercise routine with the caption:

“When your thoughts and perspective toward anything improve, it’s amazing how you may discover happiness in doing something for yourself that you once did for a living.”

Lacy joined Amare Global, a company that promotes mental health. Eddie declared his intention to join the mental health organization Amare Global in November 2021. Lacy wrote,

“Mental Wellness is something I know all too well.”

Eddie stated on Instagram that he has recently come to understand the value of mental wellness. He stated:

“I have discovered how important gut health can be to your mental wellness through yoga, meditation, and good eating. Despite my problems, I have learned the value of good sleep for a happier mood and more vitality.”

According to Lacy’s research, Amare Global provides the best mental wellness services of any organization, he claimed. He had therefore decided to join forces with the business and make it his new career.

Eddie wrote,

“I have chosen to not only work with Amare Global, but I have chosen to make this my new career, to disseminate what we are doing here throughout the world.

The importance of mental health is equal to that of physical health. After the Katrina-related loss of his family’s house, Eddie began to struggle with his diet.

To avoid Hurricane Katrina, Eddie’s family relocated from New Orleans to Beaumont, Texas. Their home was burned down, and everything they owned was stolen. For a period, the family resided with Eddie’s aunt in Baton Rouge before relocating to a trailer in Geismar.

Lacy vented his emotions and frustrations on the football field, which led to the University of Alabama offering him a scholarship. His parents were struggling to make ends meet and couldn’t afford to feed the family well. There wasn’t much Lacy could do about the fact that he ate poorly most of the time. He said to ESPN:

“How long could we have maintained our healthy lifestyle, even if we had taken it? Possibly a few weeks or even a month. My mother insisted we eat bread with everything we ate because she knew it would fill us up and make us feel less hungry later. She did her best to feed us despite having to.”

The intense training he underwent before joining Alabama helped him maintain a healthy weight. But when he arrived at the Packers, he discovered a considerably lazier training schedule. He asked himself, “Is this all we have to do?” according to ESPN. He acknowledges that there was more he could have done to prepare for the game, but in the end, he lost the fight. Lacy said to ESPN:

“There are moments when I wish I had a strong metabolism and could eat whatever I wanted without gaining any weight. There are some of your teammates who say, “Man, I can’t gain weight no matter what I eat.” And I say, “It doesn’t matter what kind of diet I’m on; I have a really hard time losing weight, which makes it simple for me to gain it back.”

Eddie’s battles on the field were made more difficult for him to handle by online haters.

Eddie Lacy transitioned from a potential NFL star to an online joke over time. Eddie is the only person who truly comprehends the savagery of the internet.

His Twitter account was investigated by internet sleuths, who discovered messages from his undergraduate days mentioning Lacy’s fondness for Chinese food. Every tweet was screenshotted and assembled into a popular collage.

Eddie said,

“It undoubtedly put me in a bad mood. Wish I could comprehend what they gain from it. Lacy’s tummy was photo-shopped to make it appear as though he had a Santa Claus figure.”

He bemoaned:

“There would be a fat comment somewhere if I opened my Twitter right now. For instance, if I tweeted, “Today is a great day!” someone would reply, “Oh yeah? You’re overweight. What do you get out of that, I wonder as I sit there.”

You’d think Eddie would stop using social media because of the hate, but that hasn’t happened. On social media, things are rarely allowed to slip, and beneath every post, you’ll find someone making fun of him because of his weight.

He has learned to become accustomed to the hostility because he is aware that every post will be met with hatred. Whether you’re doing well or are having a bad time, the negativity is always around, he told ESPN.
