Wheein- Birth, Age, Ethnicity, Siblings, Education

Wheein was reared as a single child in Jeonju by her middle-class parents, so she appeared to be able to do everything she wanted; nonetheless, she was always modest and wanted nothing more than to sing and spend time with her friends.

Her parents recognized she was a fantastic vocalist when she was very young and enrolled her in a music school to help her improve her skills. She attended Jeonju Elementary School before moving on to Sacred Heart Girl’s Middle School and Wonkwang Information Arts High School, where she focused on becoming a famous singer and did not attend college.

Wheein- Relationship, Boyfriend

Wheein and her Mamamoo friends have all tried to keep their private affairs out of the spotlight, but Wheein mentioned in an interview that her ideal sort of man is Beenzino Sunbaenim, who is also her crush. Beenzino, real name Lim Sung-bin, is a South Korean rapper signed to Illionaire Records.

Although he was born in South Korea, he spent the majority of his youth in Christchurch, New Zealand, before returning to South Korea to attend high school at the age of 14. Following his graduation, he enrolled in Seoul National University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sculpture in 2014.

His first solo album, “24:26,” was published in 2012 when he was still a university student, and he steadily rose up the ranks of rap music, with his most hit single being “Dali, Van, Picasso.” Wheein has not commented on any other males, and she looks to be single at the moment.

Wheein- Professional Career

Wheein is best known as one of the four singers of the Mamamoo band, along with Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa.
It was founded in 2014 by RBW – formerly known as WA Entertainment – and the group was officially introduced on June 18, 2014, when they performed their “Mr. Ambiguous” single, with some critics claiming that this was one of the best K-pop debuts ever.

While working their way up in the music industry, the girls mostly collaborated with other artists, such as K. Will in “Peppermint Chocolate” and Bumkey in “Don’t Be Happy,” before releasing their debut extended play (EP) “Hello” in 2014, and their first original soundtrack for the “Marriage, Not Dating” Korean drama “Love Lane” in 2015.

Their second EP, “Piano Mane,” was released on November 21, 2014, and peaked at #41 on Gaon’s Digital Chart, propelling Mamamoo to the top of South Korea’s K-pop charts. On June 19, 2015, they released their third EP, “Pink Funky,” with the lead track “Um Oh Ah Yeh” proving highly popular, hitting #3 on the Gaon Chart.

Their first concert was held on August 13, 2016, and 7,000 tickets were sold in less than a minute and also debut full-length album “Melting” was published on February 26, 2016, and peaked at number three on the Gaon Chart, while their fourth EP “Memory” was released on November 7, 2016.

Wheein’s solo career began in 2018 with her song “Easy,” and her second single “Good Bye” in 2019 earned her a nomination for song of the year in 2020. On September 4, 2019, she released her debut album, “Soar.”

Wheein is also a TV personality, having starred in the 55th and 56th episodes of the MBC Network’s “King of Mask Singer” reality show, as well as five episodes of the JTBC Network’s “Secret Unnie” series in 2018.

Hobbies and interests

Wheein’s primary passion is supposedly freestyle rapping and singing her heart out — her freestyle raps are renowned to be amusing. She is very energetic and enjoys being on the move all the time; she is usually doing something during the day, such as going for a walk, running, or cycling, therefore she dislikes rainy days since they limit her ability to do activities she enjoys. Her favorite music genres are urban and R&B, and she is a major fan of the 13-member Seventeen idol boy group.

Wheein is interested in the arts, particularly photography, and has attempted to become a photographer herself — she enjoys snapping selfies, and many of these can be seen on her Instagram account. She enjoys sketching as well. She enjoys watching cooking shows on TV and refers to herself as a “Snack Queen.” She also enjoys watching movies starring Lee Min-ho and Kim Soo-Hyun, particularly “The Bittersweet,” “Our School’s E.T.”, and “The Thieves.”
