Parents of Victor Osimhen: Meet Father Patrick Osimhen

Father of Victor Osimhen, Patrick Osimhen, passed away on May 23, 2021, at the age of eighty.

Before retiring, Patrick worked as a civil servant in the Ministry of Education in Lagos State. Victor, a renowned football player, shared the news of his father’s passing on his official Twitter account.

It is important to note that Patrick, like many African parents, initially desired for his son to pursue a career in medicine rather than football.

Victor was an orphan after losing his mother at a tender age and then his father. Victor and his family received condolences from the Nigerian Football Federation and his former club, Lille OSC, during this difficult time.

Lille OSC even arranged for Victor to travel on a private jet to Nigeria to attend his father’s funeral and support his family.

Victor has thrived in football despite the emotional setback, delivering remarkable performances for his current club, Napoli.
