American singer AD Amerie gained popularity after releasing her track “1 Thing” in 2005. At the time, the album single had the highest success, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and at the top of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

There is one person in Amerie’s life that she never fails to mention while talking about her singing style. One is her mother, who gave her instruction in classical art, and the other is her father, who has always given her unwavering support when she wanted to pursue a music career.

So let’s take a look at the vocalist of Because I Live It’s a powerful support system, her parents. We will also mention what Amerie’s parents do, how they got along, and how much they contributed to her success.

It appears that despite being raised in a multicultural environment, Amerie treasured her mother’s culture more than her father’s. In a once-only interview with The Guardian, she talked about how much she loved the culture of her mother.

Like any other celebrity, Amerie and her sister Angela Marie Rogers are not shy about sharing photos of their parents on their social media accounts. On her Instagram, Angela has mentioned her parents’ lengthy marriage a few times.

Amerie’s sister posted the lovely photo of her parents on February 3, 2019, and it read,

The pair must have had something in common that they cherished most to have been married to each other for such a long time. So what might be the key to Amerie’s parents’ enduring union?

The response was previously mentioned by their younger daughter on her Instagram page. She said in a post on July 13, 2014, that she had dedicated to her parents.

The world’s best parents are mine! they helped me develop a good perspective on the idea that marriage should be founded on love rather than simply settling to “have a family.”

The secret to the singer of In Love & War’s parents’ lengthy union is that they never saw it as a bargaining chip. Instead, they take the helm by emphasizing the love and concern that a husband and wife should have for one another to preserve their marriage.

They had to abide by the tight guidelines that their parents had established for them. Amerie once said in an interview that her parents were orthodox Christians with a conservative outlook who was protective of her.

Study, study, study was always the mantra. We were only allowed to use the phone during the week and could only go out on the weekends.

Amerie also said that her sister was more affected than she was by the restrictions her parents placed on them (Amerie and her sister). Regarding this, she stated,

However, my sister was furious and still stands by her promise that “I’ll never do this to my kids.”

Although Amerie’s parents did once forbid their children at a particular age from engaging in activities they enjoyed, the truth is that they never prevented either of their girls from picking a job. Amerie is a well-known artist today, while her sister works as an attorney.
