Following the contentious comment made by the Iranian fighter in the video that Petr released, fans are eager to learn more about the faith of MMA fighter Petr Yan.

Yan was born in 1993, and in 2014, he started his MMA career. After signing with the UFC in 2018, he faced Teruto Ishihara in his first-ever UFC match. Yan delivered a knockout blow to win the fight.

The 5′ 7″ and 135-pound fighter has an amazing fight record of 15 wins and 2 losses during his MMA career. Yan is a formidable bantamweight opponent in the division as well. Combat sports success is a result of years of training, sports education, and a prior career as a bouncer.

Fighting has been the focus of his life. He successfully turned his skill at fighting into a career. At UFC 251, he was able to capture the bantamweight title thanks to his calm, collected fighting technique along with his aggressive nature.

The UFC Religion of Petr Yan: Is He a Muslim?

Yan, also known by his fighting moniker “No Mercy,” calls himself a “Russian, Orthodox Christian guy,” refuting the claims made about him being a Muslim. He is a deeply religious and pious man who fiercely defends his ethnic heritage.

Peter, who has blue eyes and blonde hair, is from the small Siberian settlement of Dudinka. However, because his paternal grandfather is “100% Chinese,” he has Chinese ties.

Despite Russia’s almost 200 recognized ethnic groups, Yan’s Chinese heritage and surname have gotten little attention up until now. Chinese Americans are a unique breed, though. On the other hand, because of his Chinese ancestry, Yan faced internet criticism after sharing a provocative photo of a Russian social activist on Instagram.

Yan shared a video clip on Instagram on January 16th, titled “Powerful Words,” from a speech given by Russian social and religious campaigner Vladimir Zhdanov. In the movie, Zhdanov draws comparisons between immigrant and Russian-born populations, denigrating the latter.

Such opinions can be considered discriminatory because a large number of internal migrants are not Russian Orthodox Christians and belong to ethnically non-Russian minority.

Based in the Russian region of Dagestan, Heibati is a recent Iranian mixed martial arts fighter. A native of Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim and multiethnic state, remarked in Russian, “But you are a Chinese and a Nazi.”

With only two fights under his belt, the then-unknown Iranian MMA rookie was trying to use trash talk to lure Yan into a lucrative match, but Yan was infuriated. The Russians said nothing about the attacks’ racial overtones in spite of this.

Father and Mother of the Petr Yan Family

The mixed martial arts boxer Petr Yan was born in Dudinka, Russia, on February 11, 1993. His mother is Russian, and his father is of Chinese and Russian descent. Some reports claim that Yan had seven siblings.

He started ITF Taekwon-do training in the sixth grade. He got into fights at school and on the streets all through his childhood.

Thus, Yan’s family would regularly move to avoid his fights in order to keep him safe. His older brother was a boxer who trained in their hometown.

Yan wanted to go and practice besides his brother. Yan would sneak into the training area to practice boxing when his brother refused.

He had a challenging upbringing, but he now enjoys a fantastic love life. A few years ago, Petr Yan promised his girlfriend Julia Yan that he would be together forever.

Julia and Petr are parents of two kids. On July 29, 2016, Daniil Yan, their first child, was born. On June 22, 2020, their second son, Konstantin Yan, was born.

Given their shared interest in travel, Petr and Julia are frequently spotted together. They also don’t hold back when it comes to sharing several family photos on their personal Instagram profiles as a way of showing how much they care for each other and their kids.

Petr Yan’s 2023 Net Worth

By 2023, Petr’s estimated net worth will be $1.5 million. After defeating Cory Sandhagen in the UFC 267 interim championship match, Yan was paid $482,000. When he competed against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 259, he earned the largest paycheck to date.

The starting salary for the boxer is in the range of $300,000 to $500,000. After bonuses and sponsorships, he earns between $500,000 and $700,000 for each bout.

Yan’s income comes primarily from endorsement deals and advertising, in addition to his MMA bout earnings.

He’s in great shape right now and seems to be the UFC bantamweight champion again. He will definitely get more money in the future, and he will get sponsorship.
