Care for Williams’ kids

When their son Gill Williams was born in December 1992, Treat and Van Sant were elated to become parents for the first time.

Gill showed early signs of being at ease in the spotlight by going with his parents to red-carpet events and movie premieres.

Their appearance at a special Hair 40th-anniversary screening in September 2019 at the Metrograph Theatre in New York City was noteworthy.

The late actor and his wife, Van Sant, had their second child, a girl they lovingly referred to as Ellie, in September 1998.

Because of her father’s participation in many projects, Ellie, like her elder brother, was introduced to the world of film and television sets as well as glitzy red-carpet events.

Treat documented Ellie’s appearance on set in a tweet from October 2015. He posted a picture of Ellie laughingly posing with his Chicago Fire cast mates and expressed astonishment at her stamina for the whole day.

My daughter Ellie spent the whole day on set, Treat captioned the photo. You would assume she would be bored.

Williams is also distantly related to Robert Treat Paine, who signed the Declaration of Independence, via his mother.
