After appearing in the 2005 movie Rent, Tracie Thoms gained notoriety in the entertainment industry. Together with Mimi Marquez from Rosario Dawson, she played Joanne Jefferson.

While working together, they developed into great friends and have remained so until now, decades later. They’re quite close, which has raised questions about her love life. They allegedly dated, and Thoms is widely believed to be a lesbian or bisexual actress. But are any of the claims true?

The rumors about Thoms and Dawson’s potential relationship started subdued. However, all went to crap when a purportedly private photo of the two leaked in 2007. Everyone started to think they were in a real relationship. Thoms and Rosario attended the 60th Cannes Film Festival on May 22, 2007.

They welcomed and kissed each other as they met each other at the gathering. The cheeks were the intended location for the kiss. However, a blurry photo that appeared to show them poised to kiss on the lips was the product of a bad camera viewpoint.

Thoms stated, “Rosario was kissing me on the cheek, and I was making a kissy face, so the photographer was in the ideal position, in an interview with Chattify in October 2011. However, the angle at which the photo was taken makes it appear that we are kissing one another on the lips.

She was also worried about how she would be portrayed in the media if the picture became widely circulated. “They don’t specify whether or not I’m gay.

My sexual orientation is of no importance to them, she continued. Then, after emphasizing her straightness and criticizing the media for making a huge deal out of a misconstrued photograph without ever knowing the whole story, she reiterated her straightness.

With this assertion, Thoms effectively denied ever dating Dawson. Although the interview never went viral, unlike the photo, many people continue to think she was in a romantic relationship with Dawson. Her performances in movies and on television have left her with lingering queer suspicions.

She is well-recognized for frequently playing lesbian characters, which may add to the confusion regarding her sexual orientation. Thoms, on the other hand, takes pleasure in playing this kind of roles. Instead, she takes pride in herself.

Tracie Thoms, is she married?

According to information available online, Thoms is not married. No one is aware that she has a spouse unless she is hiding something very significant. However, she has had a few boyfriends throughout the years. but nothing widely accepted. She has only revealed the boyfriends she previously had.

She described her most disastrous date with a potential lover during the same Chattify session. Due to the guy’s attitude, their second date was a complete failure. She recalled that because he had paid for the first date and felt he had “done his part,” she had to pay for the supper and his cab ride home.

Thoms was an equal rights advocate, but he overreached. During a conversation in May 2021, Tami Roman disclosed a second partner. This happened when she was still pursuing a bachelor’s in fine arts at Howard University.

Her partner was a business student who was being pursued by numerous companies to work for them. He was given a considerable deal of theater tickets, especially for the 1997 and 1998 smash musical Rent.

They thus saw Rent in a group, and she developed a strong emotional connection to the play. That marked the start of her relationship with Rent, which ultimately resulted in her being given a role in the movie.
