Tim Polasek Salary: With a new job as head coach at NDSU, Tim Polasek’s income and net worth are expected to skyrocket. He was previously the offensive coordinator/QB coach at the University of Wyoming, where he was paid $350,000 a year.

Polasek, a former collegiate quarterback, has spent nearly two decades as a coaching assistant and offensive coordinator. He’ll start his first season as a head coach in 2024, after NDSU hired him when Matt Entz quit to become the USC LB coach. Tim Polasek, a native of Iola, Wisconsin, began coaching at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2003.

After three seasons, he was promoted to graduate assistant under NDSU head coach Craig Bohl. He continued on as a running back/tight ends/fullbacks coach until 2012. Polasek subsequently transferred to Northern Illinois for one season before returning to NDSU for his second tenure (2014-16). He later worked as an offensive line coach for Kirk Ferentz’s Iowa Hawkeyes (2017-20) and as Wyoming’s offensive coordinator (2021-23). In 2024, he was named NDSU’s head coach.

How Much Does Tim Polasek Get Paid? Income and Net Worth

Polasek, 44, clearly makes a fair wage given his two decades of coaching experience. Tim was appointed as the 32nd head coach of the NDSU Bisons in 2024, his first as such. Even if the specifics of his contract are undisclosed, Polasek may be compensated in the same ballpark as his predecessor, who earned around $400K per year.

Former NDSU coach Mark Entz signed a five-year contract with the football team in 2019. The first year cost him $380,000, increasing to $396,619 by 2023. As of 2023, Tim Polasek’s net worth is expected to be $1.5 million. His fortunes may improve substantially in the coming days as a result of his stay as head coach at NDSU.

Tim formerly served as Wyoming’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach (2021-23). His yearly salary at Wyoming was estimated to be $350,000. Furthermore, he got a career-high pay of $396K in 2020 as offensive line coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes (2017-20).

The former quarterback’s pay was set to be $440,000 that season, but it was reduced by $44,000 as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Tim Polasek’s Transformation From ‘Homeless’ to New NDSU Head Coach

Head Coach Polasek shed tears of joy after signing a deal to become the head coach at NDSU (North Dakota State) on December 18, 2023. His return to Fargo to coach the Bisons is a calculated gamble he made in 2006 when then-coach Craig Bohl approached him about a graduate assistant position. Polasek was a QB coach at Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the time, as well as a part-time blogger.

Despite being offered $40,000 per year by Wisconsin-Stevens Point, he elected to join the NDSU Bisons for a six-month salary of $6,000. So he supposedly sold his golf diver to a friend for $280 to save money for petrol and moved to Fargo, where he met his wife, Jill.

Tim was “homeless” for the first three months since he didn’t have a place to live and slept on any sofa or chair at the dome. From 2007 to 2011, he was the running backs coach at NDSU before becoming the special teams coordinator in 2012. Polasek was hired as the TE/FB coach at Northern Illinois in 2013 before returning to North Dakota State as the offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016.

With the Bisons, he was a member of four NCAA Division I Football Championship teams (2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015). He would then depart NDSU to work in Iowa and Wyoming from 2016 until 2023. Tim Polasek returned to NDSU as head coach after an eight-year absence, succeeding Matt Entz, who left to become the LB coach at USC.
