Ryan Reynolds, a co-star in Deadpool who T.J. Miller called an “insecure person,” is said to “not like” him.

In a recent interview, T.J. Miller spoke candidly about his less-than-ideal working relationship with Ryan Reynolds. The Silicon Valley actor revealed how he believes Reynolds “hates” him during an interview on The Adam Carolla Show. In Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), the pair collaborated, with Miller portraying Wade Wilson’s closest pal Weasel.

T.J. Miller Recalls “Weird” Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool Scene

T.J. Miller explained in the now-viral interview how Deadpool being “Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of himself as being “horrendously nasty” to Weasel was reflected in real life: “He was like, ‘You know what’s wonderful about you, Weasel?

Even though you’re not the main character, you provide just enough exposition to make it amusing so that we can move on and resume the main film “courtesy of Entertainment Tonight.

Miller claims that Reynolds poked fun at him, which caught him off guard, by asking for another take to demean the 41-year-old actor in front of Deadpool’s cast and crew. When they said “Cut,” T.J. recalled how he “listened and thought it was weird” and left the stage as a result. Miller also said that the staff showed signs of unease following the scene.

T.J. Miller also hinted that his disagreement with Ryan Reynolds went beyond their on-screen relationship, mockingly remarking that it was the reason the 45-year-old actor behaved in the way he did. He thinks the reason is that he isn’t funnier than Ryan and hasn’t appeared in as many movies as him.

Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller will never collaborate again.

T.J. Miller declared the audacious statement at what would later prove to be a turning point in his relationship with Ryan Reynolds: “Would I reteam with him? No. I wouldn’t collaborate with him once more. Given how talented he is at playing Deadpool, I sort of wish him well because I find it odd that he despises me.”

Miller made careful to mention his admiration for Ryan as a comic while also describing him as “He’s such a wonderful comedian that, when you cover his face, he’s so quick, he’s so funny. insecure person. I adore him as a comedian, but I believe that things changed once he became quite well-known thanks to the first Deadpool. I believe he said, “See? You two see?”

Despite his comments, T.J. Miller acknowledged that his opinions about working with Ryan Reynolds might evolve, drawing a comparison to his relationship with Michael Bay, who he is now friends with and would collaborate with again. When the two collaborated in 6 Underground, Bay allegedly had a “very specific impression” of Reynolds.

T.J. Miller is emphatic that he won’t collaborate with Ryan Reynolds and won’t do another Deadpool movie either: “You shouldn’t continue doing something for more than five years, in my opinion. It seems strange to me to play Weasel now, ten years later.”

T.J. Miller reaffirmed that he doesn’t have any bad intentions for Ryan and even brought up Deadpool 3: “They don’t have my bad intentions. I believe [Reynolds] should do a Deadpool 3 and carry on with his filmmaking. I simply believe that he dislikes me, and I found his manner of expressing it to be peculiar.”

Controversies involving T.J. Miller

Notably, T.J. Miller has a history of controversy, including accusations of assaulting an Uber driver, sexual assault, allegedly sending a transphobic email to transgender film critic Danielle Solzman, and being detained on federal charges in connection with a false 911 call and a fake bomb threat on an Amtrak train.

Additionally, his Silicon Valley co-star Alice Wetterlund, who tweeted on July 18, 2018, accused him of engaging in professional misconduct. “Yes! The time has come to revive TJ Miller’s career. We need more humorous mischief, like calling in a bogus bomb warning, rather than fewer in a time like this.

We can’t afford to lose talent. I’m grateful. I don’t want to spoil things for you, but T.J. Miller was a bully and a petulant child, and pretty much everyone in a position of authority on that (nearly entirely male) set, including the male cast members, helped him get away with being unprofessional.

They can goof off at will. I don’t know if other ladies in the program had a different experience than me, but it was kind of a nightmare. I’m quite upfront about this.” It was stated that T.J. wouldn’t be returning for Silicon Valley Season 5 a year before Wetterlund’s charges.

Deadpool 3

T.J. Miller might not be back in the eagerly anticipated Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds, but Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has recently been confirmed to appear in the Shawn Levy film. The rivals revealed the news in a series of clever Instagram videos. Deadpool 3 is set to debut on September 6, 2024, and Kevin Feige has stated that the movie will be Rated-R, marking the MCU’s first attempt with the character.
