For carrying out an illegal experiment to produce a protein that could have revolutionary genetic ramifications, Clive Nicoli and Elsa Kast are in hot water.

Gavin, Clive’s brother, and William Barlow, their boss, confront them. Although it was thought that the experiment had failed, Dren is still very much alive and has begun to attack its researchers in a new manner.

Formerly a female, Dren has changed sex and now wants to mate with Elsa. Dren rapes Elsa and kills Gavin and William to achieve its objective. Elsa kills Dren after Clive loses his life trying to save her. Elsa learns, in an unexpected turn of events, that she is expecting Dren’s kid.

Despite the child’s unique ancestry, Elsa decides to keep it because Dren’s DNA has enormous scientific promise. To support her choice, she accepts a substantial quantity of money from Newstead Pharmaceuticals. Elsa is aware of the moral ramifications of her decision, but she is adamant about breaking new ground and discovering the mysteries of Dren’s DNA.

Splice’s suspenseful finale is Dren shocking everyone by exhibiting sequential hermaphroditism and changing into a man. Dren’s unexpected adjustment unleashes his aggressive side, which results in the rape of Elsa.

Despite Dren’s demise, the movie closes on an unexpected note when Elsa learns she is expecting Dren’s child. Elsa decides to carry the child to term in exchange for a significant quantity of money out of curiosity for science and the possibilities of Dren’s special DNA.

The genetic engineering skills of Clive and Elsa are well known; they combine the DNA of numerous species to produce amazing hybrids. However, they run afoul of their employer’s drive for quick riches from their prior accomplishments when they attempt to use human DNA to produce a groundbreaking new hybrid.

They develop Dren, a wonderful being with unexpected physical and mental prowess, covertly. They discover that Dren is both their greatest success and their biggest nightmare.

Genetic engineers Clive and Elsa at N.E.R.D. have been splicing animal DNA to produce hybrids for therapeutic purposes. But instead of allowing them to create a human-animal hybrid, their employers demand that they extract proteins from Fred and Ginger, their most recent creations.

Ignoring their orders, Clive and Elsa surreptitiously produce Dren, a female hybrid who ages quickly and has a human-like brain development. The couple develops a bond with Dren after Elsa convinces Clive to let the creature live.

But when Dren displays her carnivorous instincts and seduces and rapes Clive, things take a terrible turn. Clive and Elsa try to murder Dren after learning she has human DNA, but she attacks and kills them. Finally, Elsa is given a sizable quantity of money in exchange for carrying Dren’s child to term.
