Chief domestic correspondent for CNN Jim Acosta is an outspoken critic of politics and the news industry. Even if it means naming Fox News a “baseless” news channel, he is not scared to say what he thinks. Since his divorce from Sharon Mobley Stow, though, Acosta has been tight-lipped about his private life.

His Net Worth and Source of Income

As of November 2022, Jim Acosta’s net worth is between $2 and $4 million.

As a notable journalist, Acosta is likely to have a substantial net worth. He was awarded the 2017 Presidential Award by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the 2018 William Randolph Hearst Foundation Award by the San Jose State University Journalism School.

He was also a member of the Emmy-winning CNN team that covered the 2012 presidential election.

He has also written the book The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America. After its release on June 11th, 2019, it soon became New York’s best-selling book.

In the novel, Acosta concentrates on his coverage of the first two years of Donald Trump’s presidency. He acknowledges that he desires Americans to monitor how the government treats the media.

The Union of Acosta

Sharon Mobley Stow, a registered nurse, was Acosta’s long-term girlfriend and his wife. They both attended the University of James Madison.

In 1993, the couple wed and had three children: two daughters and a son. After 24 years of marriage, they divorced in 2017 after filing for divorce. Acosta has never disclosed the cause of his divorce or the location of his children.

His Origin and Age

Jim Acosta was born on April 17, 1971, in Washington, DC, and reared in Virginia. His father is of Cuban descent, while his mother is of Irish and Czech background, hence he is of mixed ancestry. Born in Santa Maria del Rosario, his father emigrated to the United States during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

When he went to Miami at the age of 11, he was only 11 years old. Later, he established his own family in Virginia, and welcomed Jim and his younger sister Angie.

Jim Acosta recounted his father’s bodybuilding days in an Instagram post published on December 13, 2020. He also mentioned that his father’s 70th birthday occurred on that day.
