Sarah Jane Hyland, an American actress, and singer, is best known for her role as Haley Dunphy on the hit ABC sitcom Modern Family. Haley Dunphy is the eldest child of Claire and Phil Dunphy.

Former American actor Matt Prokop has been in films including High School Musical 3 and Furry Vengeance, and his latest film, Geek Charming. Since 2013, he has not appeared in any movies.

From 2010 through 2014, Sarah Hyland dated Matt Prokop. It became out that Matt had been verbally and physically abusive to Sarah the whole time they were together.

According to rumors, Matt and Sarah initially crossed paths in 2008 at an audition for High School Musical 3, when he was ultimately cast as Jimmie but she wasn’t.

Later, they worked together in the 2011 Disney Channel original film Geek Charming. Sarah was Sarah, the attractive popular girl, and Matt was Matt, the brave knight.

Sarah rose to prominence as the star of the Emmy-winning series Modern Family while Matt was earning his career as a teen idol through Disney.

After dating for a while, Sarah and Matt decided to move in together and bring Barkley Bixby home with them.

In 2012, Matt made an appearance on Sarah Hyland’s Modern Family as Haley Dunphy’s (Julia) love interest, Ethan.

On the surface, they seemed like the perfect couple, but behind the scenes, they couldn’t have been more different. After four years of dating, the couple broke up in 2014.

Abuse between Sarah Hyland and Matt Prokop

The public learned about their relationship’s dark side. It became out that during their four-year relationship, Matt was physically and verbally abusive to Sarah.

During an argument, Sarah claims Matt choked her so tightly she “could not speak or breathe” while calling her foul names.

Matt continued to send her hateful, threatening, and extremely distressing messages, including suicide threats, even after they had broken up.

The actress thankfully got a restraining order against Matt for domestic violence, banning him from having any contact with her.

She was granted a temporary restraining order in August 2014, which was made permanent in October of the same year.

Relationships Sarah Hyland Has Had

In 2017, Sarah and Wells Adams started dating. The couple got engaged in July 2019 after dating for two years.

They had scheduled their wedding for August 2020, but owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, they had to postpone it several times.

The happy pair tied the knot on August 20th, 2022. Jesse Tyler Ferguson presided over the ceremony at the wedding, which took place at a California winery and was attended by all of her co-stars from Modern Family.

In addition, in early June, she had an outdoor bridal shower. Sarah and Wells are currently based in the West Coast city of Los Angeles.

In addition to her career as a radio host, Wells has appeared on the 12th season of The Bachelorette and the 3rd season of Bachelor in Paradise as a contestant.

Aside from his work on GMA3, he has also been in Best in Dough (2022) and the Celebrity Family Feud.
