Ron McGovney was one of Metallica’s guitarists and was one of the band’s lesser-known members. However, his time with the band was cut short when he had to say goodbye to his bandmates due to a feud.

Ron, who has been playing bass guitar for more than three decades, has no regrets about leaving such a great band. All because he is at peace and living a happy life with his wife and family. He is married to his wife and has three children.

Ron McGovney’s Biography: Net Worth, Age, and Other Facts

Ron, now 56, was Metallica’s original bassist, appointed by lead singer James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. In 1982, he joined the band as a bassist for the album Kill ‘Em All.

The Los Angeles-born artist even claimed that the rock band was founded in his family’s garage and that his parents financially supported them.

Ron departed Metallica the same year he joined because he wanted to be a motorcycle technician and had a quarrel with his bandmates.

While he remains friends with James and Lars, Ron has a soft spot in his heart for Dave Mustaine, Metallica’s former guitarist.

The feud between them was obvious previously, but it became breaking news when Dave named Ron a replacement for the band until they met Cliff Burton. Ron expressed surprise at Dave’s remarks, stating that he had no ill will toward his former colleague.

Ron’s former coworkers are now multimillionaires, but he has yet to reveal his personal worth. After leaving Metallica, Ron formed a band called Phantasm in 1986, but the band failed to gain national appeal. In 1988, it was distorted.

Ron McGovney- Relationship, Married Life

Ron McGovney is a married man who has been with his wife for many years.

Rene Michele Norrod, Ron’s wife, is a motorcyclist who enjoys going on rides with him. Metallica bassist Lars Ulrich said that his wife owns a Kawasaki Versys 300.

Ron and his partner have three children from their marriage: two sons named Justin and Tyler, as well as an unnamed daughter. All of his children are now adults.

Justin, one of his sons, is an Appalachian State University graduate who is pursuing a wrestling career. Despite the fact that he has yet to make his WWE debut, he appears to have a bright future in wrestling due to his towering stature and athletic build.

Ron is a low-key guy who keeps the details of his personal life and family private. As a result, he has faced gay charges in the past. However, he disproved the allegations by marrying a lovely woman and starting a family with her.
