Right back for Chelsea and the national squad, Reece James also plays for England. He plays football at the professional level in England.

James enrolled in Chelsea’s youth program when he was a youngster. The same year he graduated (2017) and was named Academy Player of the Season (after helping the under-18 team win the FA Youth Cup), he was also voted to the first team.

After a successful loan at Wigan Athletic in the Championship, he was inserted into Chelsea’s starting lineup in 2019. Let’s dig further into the story behind Reece James’s tattoo.

Chelsea right wingback Reece James now sports a tattoo. The 22-year-old fullback now proudly displays a brand-new chest tattoo.

He chose to ink a cross with wings, and he flaunted his new body art with his impressive fitness level.

James posed shirtless in front of some exercise equipment and captioned the photo, “hungrier than ever.”

His exact remarks were, “I feel we have what it takes to go all the way this season and leave with some trophies at the end,” which is a pretty bold statement.

What Happened to Reece James?

James appeared to be whole and unharmed. James made a sensational return to competitive play after being sidelined since October 11 due to knee surgery, but his game was cut short after 53 minutes.

His relentless pursuit of Bournemouth’s left wing and deft combination with Raheem Sterling were major factors in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory.

But after solving a difficulty in “the same location” as before, he soon found himself trudging back down the tunnel.

The problems for Chelsea began once James was replaced. Cesar Azpilicueta, brought in to replace James, lacked James’s offensive threat on the right side.

Fortunately, Potter’s team had a substantial lead, to begin with, but they may have trouble in the next month or so without James.

Reece’s Early Years James James went to Isleworth and Syon schools after growing up in Redbridge, Greater London. They are a football-watching family.

His sister Lauren, the second of his siblings to play professionally, signed with the Chelsea Women in July of 2021.

Their dad is the football coach, Nigel. His Dad’s family is from Jamaica. In March of 2017, he debuted professionally for Chelsea.

James started training with Chelsea when he was six years old, though he did spend time with West London rivals Fulham when he was seven.

He was named Academy Player of the Season after leading the U-18 team to the FA Youth Cup title in 2017-18.

In June of 2018, James inked a loan move with Championship club Wigan Athletic for the 2018–19 season.

In Wigan’s season opener against Sheffield Wednesday on August 4, he started and helped steer his club to a 3-2 home triumph.

As of March of this year (2018-2019), he is a member of the season’s all-championship team.

At the end-of-the-year awards ceremony for Wigan Athletic, he walked away with three trophies, including Player of the Year.
