The following year, Rebecca got hitched to Shawn, her longtime partner. She also decided to end her employment with WCB the same year. However, originally, its president Eric Bischoff refused to let her leave. They eventually reached a consensus after some time had passed.

Curci declared that she will not collaborate with anyone for the ensuing three years. She went on to say that she preferred to stay at home with her children full-time and assist her husband with managing his finances.

How Did Shawn Michaels and Rebecca Meet?

The late 1990s were when Michaels, a legendary wrestler, first caught Rebecca on television. She was a member of The Nitro Girls at the time. Shwan has been watching her on TV ever since he first saw her, and he always turns on the TV simply to see her. In his autobiography Heartbreak & Triumph, he declared her “the most gorgeous, sexiest lady I had ever seen.”

Michaels never again missed a single Nitro episode to see her after that. He also told Rich Mizner, one of his closest pals, about the female. A few weeks later, Mizner, who had previously worked at a gym in California, called Shawn to let him know that Rebecca and other showgirls were in the area. At the same moment, Rich introduced himself to Curci and told him everything about his wrestler friend.

Soon after, Curci chose to offer Michaels a phone number without being aware of his notoriety in the WWE.

To avoid giving the impression that he was a stalker, Shawn took his time before calling Rebecca. He claims in his book, Wrestling for My Life, that it is roughly the same.

“I was reluctant to call Rebecca because I felt like a stalker.”

The WWE star called her shortly thereafter, but she didn’t answer the phone. In his book Heartbreak & Triumph, he mentioned,

“She returned my call that evening, and we talked for a couple of hours.”

He also added,

“We continued talking every night for the next two weeks. Neither of us slept much, and we would talk until four in the morning. Then we’d hop on the computer and e-mail each other back and forth. It was puppy love running amuck.”

They talked on the phone and via email for the following few weeks. And when Curci traveled to San Antonio, Texas from Atlanta to see him, they eventually had a face-to-face encounter. Michaels was taken by the beauty of the girl and fell in love with her right away. After spending a few days together, Rebecca decided to return to Atlanta.

They reconnected soon after at Curci’s photo shoot. While they were both at the airport, Michaels finally told her how he felt about her. Rebecca added, “Yet,” as well.

Chris, though, made sure that he was involved in the ring drama before letting him go. Michaels then turned to face Chris, saying,

“I want you to do me a favour…I want you to go home sit your wife down, your kids down, look them in the eye and tell them that daddy will never, ever be Shawn Michaels.”
