His whole existence has revolved around combat. He basically made a career out of what he excelled at: fighting. He won the bantamweight belt at UFC 251 because to his aggressive nature and calm, calculating fighting style.

Is UFC fighter Petr Yan a Muslim?

Yan, whose battling alias is “No Mercy,” characterizes himself as a “Russian, Orthodox Christian guy,” and denies being Muslim. He is a devoted and religious guy who is very protective of his ancestors.

Petr, blond and blue-eyed, originates from the Siberian settlement of Dudinka but has Chinese ancestors since his paternal grandfather is “100% Chinese.” Despite Russia’s almost 200 recognized ethnic groups, Yan’s Chinese background and surname had hitherto garnered little attention. Ethnic Chinese, on the other hand, are a rare breed. Yan, on the other hand, was targeted online for his Instagram post of a prominent Russian social activist because of his Chinese heritage.

Yan uploaded a video clip with the caption ‘Powerful Words’ from a lecture by Russian social and religious activist Vladimir Zhdanov on Instagram on January 16. In the video, Zhdanov contrasts Russian-born and migrant populations, making scathing comments about the latter.

Because many internal migrants belong to ethnically non-Russian minority and are not Russian Orthodox Christians, such attitudes may be considered discriminatory. Heibati is a new Iranian MMA fighter located in Russia’s Dagestan Republic. “But you are a Chinese and a Nazi,” a Dagestan native, a Muslim and multi-ethnic state, stated in Russian.

Then-unknown Iranian MMA rookie with two bouts on his record was using trash talk to entice Yan into a lucrative match, but it infuriated Yan. Despite this, the Russians made no remark on the assaults’ racial overtones.

Petr Yan’s Father and Mother

Petr Yan, an MMA fighter, was born in Dudinka, Russia, on February 11, 1993. His father is Chinese-Russian, while his mother is Russian. Yan had seven siblings, according to some reports.

He started training in ITF Taekwon-do in the sixth grade. He was engaged in street fights and school battles throughout his life. As a result, his family would regularly migrate to escape Yan’s fights in order to keep him safe. His older brother trained in boxing in their hometown. Yan aspired to join and train with his brother. Yan would sneak into the training area to practice boxing when his brother refused.

Despite his rough upbringing, he now enjoys a fantastic love life. Petr Yan made a life-long promise to Julia Yan a few years ago. Petr and Julia have a daughter and a son. Their first kid, Daniil Yan, was born on July 29, 2016. Their second son, Konstantin Yan, was born on June 22, 2020.

Petr and Julia are often seen together since they both like traveling. They also don’t hold back when it comes to showing their love for one another and their children, as seen by a flood of family photos on their respective Instagram pages.

Net Worth of Petr Yan in 2023

Petr’s net worth is expected to reach $1.5 million by 2023. Yan got $482,000 for his fight against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 267. His highest payout came when he met Aljamain Sterling in UFC 259.

The fighter’s beginning salary ranges from $300,000 to $500,000. After incentives and sponsorships, he earns between $500,000 and $700,000 each bout. Yan gets the most of his money not just from MMA bouts, but also through lucrative sponsorship agreements and ads. His current form is superb, and he seems to be the reigning UFC bantamweight champion. His earnings and sponsorship will surely rise in the future.
