Mike Snyder: Unknown Person Discovered Dead

The case of Mike Snyder vanished from view for about eight years, ending in February 2010.

The case fascinated everyone, and in February 2010, eight years later, information brought the detectives back to the Snyder home—which is now held by someone else—after a change of ownership.

In the rear of the home, they discovered Mike’s body concealed behind a tarp. Mike was shot and murdered, as proven by an autopsy performed on his remains.

Mike’s wife Ellen said that she attempted to get in touch with her husband many times after learning of his absence but that she hadn’t heard from him for a few months.

Similarly, the true crime series “American Monster: Anything for You” on Investigation Discovery delves into the case and recounts how the tip resulted in the discovery of Mike’s remains and, ultimately, the arrest of Ellen Snyder.

Ellen, who was only the case’s suspect, led everyone to assume that Mike had escaped and was still alive. Ellen made an effort to hide the crime from everyone.

Is Mike Snyder a Suicide or Murder Case?

Although there is evidence of murder in Mike Snyder’s case, his wife Ellen persuaded everyone to think that he was still alive until a tip brought the police back to the Snyder residence, where Mike’s corpse was interred.

Similarly, an autopsy report verified that the victim had sustained gunshot wounds. For Mike’s death, Ellen, his wife, was taken into custody on February 5, 2010. Their kid then revealed all he knew about the event.

Ellen recounted the events of that evening in her testimony, stating, “I start shooting… I fired a gun through the wall. I fired the television.

When their 17-year-old son attempted to phone the police, Ellen talked him out of it and left Mike’s corpse, covered in a blanket, in the hallway. After forcing her son Michael to assist her in burying the corpse, Ellen used a backhoe to excavate a hole in her backyard.

Ellen also entered a guilty plea to tax fraud, tampering with evidence related to Michael’s death, and voluntary manslaughter with a weapon enhancement.
