Helen Reddy’s ex-husband was Kenneth Weate. She was an Australian-born American musician known for her hits One Way Ticket and I Believe in Music. She was also an actress, activist, and performer. Not to mention, Kenneth was also a musician.

Before permanently ending their marriage, the former couple was wed for five years. Additionally, the couple had a daughter together. Weate led a very low-key lifestyle after their marriage ended, while Helen continued to live her life and remarry.

Kenneth Weate was born when?

Australian-born musician Kenneth Claude Weate was born in 1928. He was of white Caucasian ethnicity and had Australian citizenship.

Other than that, there is currently little information known regarding Weate’s early years, siblings, or relatives. He passed away when he was 42 years old.

On the other side, his late ex-wife Helen Maxine Reddy was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on October 25, 1941. She was the daughter of Stella Campbell, an actress, singer, and dancer, and Maxwell David Reddy, an author, producer, and actor.

She was 13 years her first husband’s junior. Likewise, Helen was of Irish, Scottish, and English descent, and she also held dual citizenship with the United States and Australia.

P.S. Helen Reddy was born in 1942, while her father was an Australian Army sergeant, serving in Europe.

Helen Reddy had a career of his own, despite the fact that the father of one was well-known for his marriage to the Australian-American singer and actress Helen.

Reddy was once a singer and musician, according to a number of reports. Sadly, the public is currently unaware of very few of his job credits.

His ex-wife Helen, on the other hand, was a prominent activist, actor, singer, and songwriter. Her successful tracks, including One Way Ticket, I Believe in Music, I Don’t Know How to Love Him, I Can’t Say Goodbye to You, and many others, helped to make her very well-known.

In addition, her 1971 hit song I Am Woman, which played a key role in contemporary culture, became an anthem for second-wave feminism. Because of the song, she later became referred to as the “feminist icon” or the “feminist poster girl.”

As was already established, Kenneth Claude Weate and his ex-wife Helen were more than ten years apart in age. Reddy was only 20 when they were married in 1961.

Weate and Reddy reportedly knew one other’s families. In order to rebel against her parents, the late singer wed her first husband. They had a daughter together, Traci Wald Donat, who was born on January 19, 1963 in Malvern, Melbourne, Australia.

The ex-husband and ex-wife, however, were married for five years until divorcing in 1966. The cause of their split has not yet been made public. Jeff Wald, Helen’s second husband, later adopted their daughter Traci.

Weate led a quiet life away from the public after divorcing his former spouse Helen. Likewise, there were no online reports of his second marriage or extramarital encounters.

Additionally, Weate passed away on April 11, 1970, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 42. The precise circumstances surrounding his demise are still unknown, though.

The singer-actress divorced Kenneth two years later, then wed Jeff Wald as her second husband. On May 25, 1968, Helen converted to Judaism and wed Jeff. Jordan Sommers was born to Reddy and Wald on December 12, 1972 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Moreover, from the time of their union until their divorce, Wald served as his wife’s manager. The singer ended her 13-year marriage to her second husband because of his addiction issues. On January 3, 1983, their divorce became legally binding.

Nevertheless, their relationship was also depicted in Helen’s 2019 biopic I Am Woman. In June 1983, Helen also wed Milton Ruth, her third husband, in a secret ceremony. In actuality, Ruth, her third husband, and Helen’s drummer met through their respective jobs.

Sadly, after the singer and Milton divorced in 1995, Reddy’s third marriage also ended in failure.

Helen Reddy, a Grammy Award-winning singer, died on September 29, 2020, at the age of 78. The late singer was a temporary patient at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital, where she passed away.

Likewise, according to numerous medical sources, Helen had Addison’s illness for a number of years and dementia since 2015. At the age of 17, she had a kidney removed as well.

Sadly, the precise cause of her death has not yet been made public. Her two kids, Traci and Jordan, shared the news of her passing on Facebook. The statement she and her son made read, “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Reddy, on the afternoon of September 29, 2020, in Los Angeles.”

Similarly, her second husband Jeff also shared the news of his ex-wife’s passing on Twitter, adding,

“I am extremely sorry to inform you that Traci and Jordan’s mother, my first wife of 18 years, has passed away. Helen was with Traci for the morning, and shortly after, she passed away under the amazing care of the Motion and Television Home.
