Meet Darius Pridgen Wife Monique Oni Pridgen

Monique Pridgen is the spouse of Buffalo, New York-based national celebrity Darius Pridgen. Another name for Monique Pridgen is Oni. One is a gifted vocalist whose songs enthrall listeners with her beautiful voice. She started singing in the church choir at a young age and sang solely gospel music up until recently.

But as of late, she has experimented with writing music inspired by her writings. One of Monique’s first songs to be recorded, “Destiny,” was written for her wedding. Darius, her spouse, found it surprising. Oni revealed that throughout their first dance, she had been singing the song. Her music is available on iTunes and SoundCloud for everyone to enjoy.

In addition to being a gifted artist, Oni is a loving mother to her two sons. She was deeply saddened by George Floyd’s death in 2020, which served as the inspiration for the moving song “We Will Breathe.” The lyrics, which also represent the broader call for equality and peace, show her frustration. Between her grandmother’s generation’s more reserved demeanor and the younger generation’s more vocal advocacy, Oni bears the burden of her generation’s responsibility.

Her musical project is named “Catharsis,” which alludes to the process of expressing oneself via the medium of art, especially music. Oni finds comfort and healing in writing and performing her songs, and she believes that by sharing her music with others, she will also bring people peace and healing.

She feels a tremendous deal of satisfaction and fulfillment from her music, which listeners have described as healing and consoling. Through her art, Oni conveys her passion for music and her dedication to her neighborhood. She is also committed to using her skills to make a difference in the world.
