On June 4, 2023, Adina Azarian, a 49-year-old real estate broker hailing from East Hampton, New York, perished in a private jet accident in southwest Virginia. Tragically, she along with her 2-year-old daughter and the family nanny perished in the incident.

At age 40, John and Barbara Rumpel adopted Adina Azarian, who is now 49 years old. She brought to mind the couple’s 1994-deceased first child, Victoria.

This marked the second calamity that the Rumpel family had to confront; their first daughter, Victoria, had perished in a scuba diving accident in 1994. The family and friends of Adina Azarian are profoundly saddened by her demise in the plane disaster.

Adina Azarian | Family

Adina was born to prominent Republican donors John and Barbara Rumpel, who have supported former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, among other conservative political candidates.

In addition, they have been active proponents of gun rights, with Barbara having been a Women’s Leadership Council member of the NRA since 2002.

As the investigation into the cause of the plane accident continues, some hypothesize that a loss of pressurization on board may have contributed to the passengers’ unconsciousness due to oxygen deprivation.

Already this year, the Rumpel family has been beset by tragedy. A scuba-diving tragedy claimed the life of their other daughter, Victoria, at the age of 19, in 1994.

As a tribute to Victoria, John and Barbara acquired an eleven-story edifice in Melbourne, Florida, which they subsequently converted into the assisted-living facility Victoria Landing.

The premature demise of the family has evoked astonishment and sorrow within their community, bequeathing a lasting impact of political engagement and philanthropy.
