The ice hockey player is considered one of the top prospects for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. In the NHL Central Scouting final draft rankings, Matty was ranked fourth among North American skaters. Before joining the Michigan Wolverines, Beniers was a part of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP) from 2018 to 2020.

He represented the NTDP in the USHL and international events, winning gold medals at the 2019 U18 World Junior Championship and the 2021 U20 World Junior Championship. Matty Beniers’s Family: Where Are His Parents From?

Matty Beniers is from the Massachusetts town of Hingham. His family still lives in Hingham, a hamlet about 15 miles southeast of Boston. Beniers comes from a background of academic and athletic accomplishment. His parents, Christine and Bob Beniers, both have college degrees.

Christine is an attorney who earned a degree in engineering from Cornell and a law degree from Boston College, while Bob played football at Boston College. Matty is the youngest of three children, the others being a brother named Bobby and a sister named Gianna. According to his mother, having older brothers helped Matty identify and accept his place in the pecking order.

Christine praises Matty’s emotional intelligence, kindness, and adaptability. Similarly, Bob Beniers claims that his son has adjusted well to the pressures of high-level hockey and stardom. The Beniers family is interested in both the arts and hockey. Christine is a former Broadway actress who produced school plays for her children while they were little.

Matty has also performed show tunes from popular musicals including “Jersey Boys” and “The Sound of Music.” Interestingly, when Bob and Matty chatted in Seattle, they never explicitly discussed Matty playing in the NHL. They were more concerned about getting into a good college and having a memorable hockey experience. Despite this, Matty’s on-ice performance and work ethic have positioned him in a position to play in the NHL in the future.
