Larry Bird, a former NBA player, and his wife Dinah Mattingly are the parents of Connor Bord. Although Larry Bird hasn’t played for a while, his name is still well-known in basketball history.

The legacy of Larry’s family, especially his children, may also catch people’s attention. Although the 65-year-old has a good relationship with them, Connor and his sister aren’t as well recognized as their father.

They have rather routine lives, and only seldom do we see mentions of them in the news. Check out the photos below to see some of Connor’s most memorable moments. Additionally, read about his life, including his work, present whereabouts, the state of his personal life, etc.

Where was Connor Bird born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family, Education

As the adopted child of former small forward Larry Bird and his wife Dinah, he was born in 1992. He might have gone to Indiana University once.

The son of the athlete also spent some of his formative years in Naples, Florida. This happened after his father left the Celtics. Connor watched a lot of Miami Heat games with his father while they were still living in Florida.

Quick Facts

In October 1989, Larry Bird, the special adviser for the Indiana Pacers, wed Dinah Mattingly, his adoptive mother. At Indiana State University, Dinah and Larry had already met.

Even though they were childless biologically, they decided to grow their family by adopting Connor and Mariah.

The two children’s real parents have not yet been revealed by the six-foot-nine-inch small forward. Conner was a young child during his father’s 1992 Barcelona Olympic gold medal campaign.

Siblings of Connor Bird

Mariah Bird and Corrie Bird, along with Corrie Bird’s half-sister, are Connor’s siblings. His sister Mariah Bird was a manager and real estate agent at the time of the last report. She is in charge of Venues and Event Activations.

After earning an honors degree in tourism, hospitality, and event management from Indiana University Bloomington, Mariah previously worked as an intern with PS&E. Later, she coordinated events and special initiatives for PS&E.

Soon after Corrie, Connor’s half-sister was born, Bird’s solicitors asked for a paternity test. However, Corrie had already reached toddlerhood when the test results confirmed her paternity. Her father hadn’t been around her a lot.

In the meantime, Larry was seeing Dinah and staying out of his daughter’s life, a choice he now confesses still bothers him. The draftee from round one in 1964 ultimately decided to support his daughter from his first marriage financially, although he had little interaction with her.

Larry Bird, the father of Connor Bird

In West Baden Springs, Indiana, Larry Bird was born to Georgia (née Kerns) and Korean War veteran Claude Joseph “Joe” Bird. On both sides of his family, Connor’s adoptive grandparents were of Irish, Scottish, and Native American descent.

His father, Larry, has said that experiencing poverty as a child continues to inspire him “to this day.” Grandfather Joe, who had recently divorced Georgia, died by suicide.

Connor Bird Ran Into Legal Issues In 2013

Connor did gain some media attention in February 2013, despite being the celebrity son that gets the least attention.

The son of an NBA icon, who was 21 at the time, had a tense encounter with the law when he was detained at Indiana University for allegedly trying to run over a former lover in Bloomington with his automobile.

Connor allegedly tried to run the woman over with his Dodge Charger in the Indiana Memorial Stadium parking lot. According to University Police Chief Keith Cash at the time, Bird might be charged with battery with injuries, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and marijuana possession.

Three crimes, including violence for allegedly slapping the 20-year-old woman’s wrist with a mobile phone, criminal recklessness with a car, and possession of fewer than 30 grams of marijuana, were brought against Larry and Dinah’s son in February 2013.

According to authorities, Conner and his ex-girlfriend were fighting in the former’s car on campus. When Connor’s ex got out of the car to walk home, Bird allegedly tried to hit her with his vehicle.

The Indiana University police department claims that during the argument, Connor tossed his phone at his significant other. The former Boston Celtic’s kid allegedly tossed a cell phone at the ex-girlfriend following their altercation at Bird’s Bloomington residence, according to the police.

Later, Connor visited his former housemate and escorted her to a parking lot so they could talk. They started another argument there, and the woman exited Bird’s vehicle to return home on foot.

A jury found Connor Bird guilty of attempting to kill his Girlfriend

The court found Connor guilty of a lesser offense in an instance where he was accused of almost colliding with a former girlfriend with his automobile in April 2014, a year after “the running over” event.

Connor admitted to criminal irresponsibility and went into a deferred sentencing deal. On the other side, the judge decided to throw out his case if he follows through on a compliance agreement that was submitted to Monroe Circuit Court for 12 months.

According to the judge, the case would be dropped provided the defendant committed no other offenses, took part in a mentorship program, and finished all necessary counseling and treatment. The police had already accused Connor of unruly conduct and illegal alcohol consumption before he attempted to run over a woman in 2011. Because it was settled through Monroe County’s pre-trial diversion program, the case was never brought to that point.

What Is Connor Bird Doing Now?

The only child of Indiana Pacers coach Connor has become almost a finished name since his second hearing in the middle of 2014. It is therefore unknown what the Jr. Bird has been up to lately.

The whereabouts of his wifely information in the Connor Bird case is another item that baffles me. Except for the infamous incident with his girlfriend in 2013, he hasn’t received any good press.

Furthermore, nobody can tell if he has a wife or, at the absolute least, a girlfriend because of his silence on social media.

A comparison of Connor Bird’s and his father’s net worth

When Connor’s father played for the Boston Celtics, he was a deadly scorer and a ferocious competitor. These two details, in addition to his three NBA titles, allowed him to command a high salary.

The three-time NBA Champion was a straightforward man with common interests despite making slightly more than $24 million in the NBA and accumulating huge net worth. He discovered his greatest pleasures in the most commonplace settings despite his celebrity and wealth.

Connor earned a sizable sum of money from endorsement deals and his post-playing career as an NBA executive in addition to his NBA pay. His net worth of more than $75 million was influenced by his professional basketball pay and other perks.

Concerning the son of Larry and Dinah’s net worth, no comparable information is provided. The apparent ambiguity of him amid the newshounds is largely to blame for the context. In any event, it seems unlikely that Connor would be affluent in his multimillionaire father’s industry.

Did Connor Bird engage in professional basketball?

Although Connor loved the NBA and his father’s team, the Pacers, as a youth, it is unknown if he ever played professionally. The troubling part of his biography is that Connor is nearly a ghost moniker, save from the distinction of being the son of an NBA Hall of Famer.
