Bruce Family of Kitty

The only child of the famed comedian Lenny Bruce and his wife, Honey Harlow, Kitty Bruce was born on November 7, 1955.

Sadly, her parents’ marriage disintegrated on January 21, 1957, barely two years after she was born.

Lenny Bruce was greatly influenced by Sally Marr, Kitty’s grandmother, an important American actress, dancer, and stand-up comedian.

Her mother, an American stripper and showgirl named Honey Harlow, passed very tragically in September 2005. Lenny Bruce, her father, was a well-known stand-up comedian who was renowned for his astute social satire and acting prowess.

In 1951, Lenny Bruce met Honey Harlow, an Arkansas dancer from Manila, when Bruce ran into Honey.

In the same year that they were married, Bruce tried to persuade Honey to give up her job as a dancer. They moved to the West Coast in 1953 and landed a position as a duo act at the Cup and Saucer in Los Angeles.

Kitty, then, comes from a long line of actors in her family. She continues a long-standing family custom.
