Jayden Jensen was duck hunting with friends in a remote area of southern Bingham County at 1 p.m. when he fell into fast-moving rivers while attempting to retrieve a bird he had shot.

Because of the distant location, his friends had to use their cellphones to direct the authorities to their locations between McTucker Ponds and American Falls Reservoir. Bingham County Search and Rescue worked with sheriff’s deputies, scuba divers, and rescue boats. They searched for Jayden until Wednesday night, then resumed their search at 8 a.m. Thursday until dusk, aided by a helicopter flying overhead. Despite the snow on Friday, searchers continued to look for the missing adolescent.

Is Jayden Jensen Found?

Jayden Jensen, 16, who went missing after slipping into the Snake River during a hunting trip in southern Bingham County last week, is now the focus of a recovery effort rather than a rescue, according to officials. Jayden, from Pocatello, was last seen on December 6 around 1 p.m. while attempting to retrieve a duck he shot while hunting with buddies.

Despite repeated efforts, Jayden has yet to be discovered. To aid in the search, the sheriff’s office is employing side-scan sonar, which is capable of locating and imaging objects on the riverbed. Furthermore, similar practices, which were initially applied in the disaster’s immediate vicinity, are now being used more widely.

The incident occurred in a remote area between McTucker Ponds and American Falls Reservoir, and rescuers scoured both the Snake River and the reservoir. According to the sheriff’s office, an ice shelf in the reservoir’s southern portion, particularly on the east side, has hampered search attempts.

Jensen Jayden -The GoFundMe

Three days ago, Jayden’s family set up a GoFundMe campaign in the hopes of raising money and support to aid in the search for the missing 16-year-old from Pocatello. Jensen tragically died last Wednesday after falling into Idaho’s Snake River while duck hunting with friends in a rural portion of Bingham County.

The GoFundMe website has heartbreaking details about the incident and the subsequent search, such as how Jensen slipped through the ice while attempting to recover a shot duck. Despite extensive efforts by police search and rescue teams, helicopters, and volunteers, Jayden remains missing.

In only three days, the Jensen family’s GoFundMe page has received an outpouring of emotional and financial support from the community, with over 140 people contributing $7,000 so far. This money will help Jayden’s family purchase equipment, coordinate volunteers, and continue the exhaustive search.

Jayden Jensen’s Family Requests Assistance in Locating Him

Jayden’s family aggressively seeks help from the public and authorities following his abduction while duck hunting in the Snake River, expressing concern for his well-being and making every effort to locate him. Jayden’s family has also filed a missing person report and is disseminating information about his disappearance after he fell into the river while recovering a fowl he had shot. The Jensen family is looking for any way to raise awareness and keep his story in the public eye.

According to a friend who went duck hunting with Jayden, social media posts about his kidnapping were erased. Jayden’s kidnapping into the frigid Snake River remains a mystery to the family. They become increasingly concerned about his chances of survival as time passes, but they remain hopeful that he will be discovered.
