Heading Ambrosia Home, a custom furniture company with headquarters in Las Vegas and California, is Jacquelyn Newell.

She is most well-known for being the daughter of Debra Newell, the late, notorious con man John Meehan of the Dirty John’s wife. Con artist John was notorious for having deceived, abused, and seduced numerous middle-aged single women, including Debra, Jacquelyn’s mother.

The Newell family’s ordeal, which culminated in John’s death while attempting to abduct Terra, Debra’s youngest daughter, would be the subject of numerous media accounts, film adaptations, and other works. About that, the actual crime tale gave rise to both a well-liked podcast and a Netflix miniseries called Dirty John.

Since then, John’s story and the Newell family’s have attracted widespread attention. According to media accounts, Jacquelyn was the most outspoken member of her family about her hatred for her mother’s late ex-husband among the numerous individuals involved in the case.

But ever since the Newell family became the subject of a popular national narrative, Jacquelyn has stayed the most private. Get to know her in-depth, including her personal life, how she is in real life, and the reasons behind her decision to keep quiet.

Originally from Orange County, Jacquelyn Newell’s parents separated when she was a small child.

Jacquelyn grew up in Orange County, California, together with her siblings. While her father worked in construction, Debra, her mother, was an interior designer when she was younger. Currently, her father is in his 70s.

Following their divorce in the late 1990s, Jacquelyn and her siblings are said to have grown up under the watchful eye of numerous nannies because their parents were frequently absent.

Being raised in a Christian home, the native of Orange County and her siblings never missed Sunday church. Family members claim that Jacquelyn has always been aggressive, even at a young age.

Her Brothers and Sisters

Debra and her former spouse had four daughters together, including Newell. The eldest of her sisters, Nicole, is joined by Kim and Terra. Kim and Nicole are reportedly her half-sisters.

It appears that Jacquelyn has a half-brother as well. Although Jacquelyn has not disclosed her exact birthdate, it has been stated that she was approximately 24 years old in 2014 when John Meehan entered her family’s life. It is now assumed that she is in her early 30s.

Debra stated in a Forbes interview that she was able to go to Los Angeles as soon as she thought her daughter Jacquelyn could move her business to Irvine, California. She used to work in sales for a plastic surgeon as well.

The Actual Account Of How John Meehan Became a Member Of The Newell Family Debra, Jacquelyn’s mother, first connected with John in 2014 via a dating website. They got married not long afterward. From the start, everyone in Debra’s family—including Jacquelyn and her sister Terra—had doubts about John.

John caused a lot of strife among the Newell family as soon as he joined them.

John Meehan, the late con artist, and Debra Newell, the mother of Jacquelyn, were married.

Some of the Newell family members were very tense with each other during his chapter, and at times they were afraid for their lives. But in the end, they discovered that John was a scammer.

Meehan and Debra would separate ways after that. After that, John starts stalking Jacquelyn and even makes threats against her family. Eventually, he attempted to kidnap Terra, Debra’s youngest daughter.

A private investigator was hired by Jacquelyn Newell to investigate John

It appears that Jacquelyn was the one who convinced John to engage a private investigator to learn more about her stepfather when she started to feel uneasy around him. To find out where John was, she also purchased a magnetic tracker and installed it on her mother’s Tesla.

The somewhat lesser-known Newell member discovered, while tracking his movements, how often her stepfather did odd turns. She also questioned why John had such filthy fingernails.

Because she had experience working with doctors as a salesperson, Jacquelyn was aware of how hygienic they were. From their first meeting, Jacquelyn, Debra’s second daughter, harbored misgivings about her mother’s new boyfriend, John. From the start, she had desired her mother to part ways with John.

After Jacquelyn began to receive strange texts on her mother’s phone that were not from her, she started to be wary of John. Furthermore, she used to hear her mother Debra lament that her money had disappeared from her pocketbook without her awareness.

Following the detective’s investigation, Jacquelyn and her family—including Debra—found out that John had previously served many jail terms, been the subject of multiple restraining orders from women, and was a major drug user.

Jacquelyn’s former stepfather was a skilled con artist, a compulsive liar, and a cunning manipulator. He had also defrauded several helpless women.

What Is Jacquelyn’s Sister Doing After Killing John Meehan?

On August 20, 2016, John’s time in Jacquelyn’s family will come to an end. But the end would not be reached cordially.

When he attempted to kidnap Jacquelyn, it was her younger sister Terra who put a stop to his inevitable fate by killing him out of self-defense. On August 20, Terra, Jacquelyn’s sister, had just arrived at her New Port Beach, California, apartment. John suddenly grabbed her from behind after she had just gotten out of her car and opened the door to let her dog outside.

In an instant, he attempted to stuff Debra’s youngest kid into his car while brandishing a knife at Terra. Meehan even stabbed Terra in the right arm once, but the knife finally dropped to the ground.

After gaining possession of the sword, Terra proceeded to stab John. She would only quit impaling Meehan at number thirteen, stabbing John in the eyes as her last wound. It would take Meehan four days to die.

Following the knife battle with her ex-stepdad, Terra experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and took some time to heal psychologically. Although Jacquelyn’s younger sister claims she still faces difficulties related to her prior trauma, she has gone on to succeed as a life coach and influencer.

In addition to being a writer and podcast host, Terra also sort of stars on social media and assists others in overcoming their traumas.

Jacquelyn Goes By Veronica Newell Instead of Her Real Name In Her Story’s Series Version

The Netflix true crime drama Dirty John stars Juno Temple, an English actress, playing either Veronica Newell or Jacquelyn Newell. She starred in the Killer Joe film.
In the television series Dirty Crime, Juno Temple, played by Ted Lasso, played Jacquelyn Newell.

However, the creator of the show altered Jacquelyn’s name to Veronica Newell based on a quote from her main character.

When Jacquelyn learned that her family’s story would be turned into an entertainment endeavor, she requested that the producers not use her true name. It seems that the only thing about the characters that the series has changed is Jacquelyn’s name.

Jacquelyn was apprehensive to be in the story adaption, even according to Alexandra Cunningham, the showrunner of Dirty John. She refused to even use her name in the television series Dirty John due to the extreme secrecy.

Temple, who portrayed Jacquelyn in the show, supported the 32-year-old’s choice to keep her secret as well. Not even the Los Angeles Times was able to publicly release the photo of Jacquelyn.

Does Not Use Social Media Alternatively

To the outside world, Jacquelyn appears to lack a social media presence, in contrast to her sister Terra. Furthermore, not even her family members have posted a significant number of her photos on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
