Joshua Roy makes appearances so often that some are wondering whether he is connected to Hall of Fame goalkeeper Patrick Roy.

In the fifth round of the 2021 National Hockey League entry draft, the Montreal Canadiens selected Canadian professional ice hockey player Joshua. He was considered a future-ready athlete and was chosen 150th overall.

After a great deal of work, he moved up to number 7 in 2022 from position 22 the year before. Supporters of the National Hockey League look up to this young player and consider him to be a star.

He credits such accomplishments to the support and confidence his parents instilled in him.

Is Patrick Roy’s Brother Joshua Roy?

Contrary to popular belief, Joshua Roy is not Patrick Roy’s son. There is no connection between them.

On August 6, 2003, Joshua Roy was born into a family consisting of Sandra and Paulin Roy. Conversely, Patrick Roy, who was divorced from Michèle Piuze, is the father of three children: Jana, Frederick, and Jonathan.

Two of Patrick’s offspring, Jonathan and Frederick, also had excellent hockey careers, despite the fact that Patrick and Joshua are unrelated. Both played hockey with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where Patrick served as the team’s head coach.

Before retiring, Frederick spent two seasons as a professional hockey player with the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans. He attends Concordia University and plays for the Stingers right now.

Examining Joshua Roy’s Family Details

Sandra and Pauline Roy became the parents of Joshua Roy. Being a native of Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, Canada, he holds Canadian citizenship by virtue of his birth.

The youthful athlete has continued to keep his personal and family life apart from his professional endeavors. Nevertheless, he will always be grateful for their support and the sacrifices they made for him.

Roy expressed gratitude to everyone who had supported him throughout the interview, particularly to Sandra and Paulin, his parents, for never giving up on him. The media and ice hockey enthusiasts are taking an interest in him due to his recent success.

He expressed gratitude to his family, especially his parents and brothers Charles-Etienne and Jacob, for enabling him to get to the next level in a March interview with the NHL.

Joshua said that when he was younger, he did not work as hard as he does today. He freely admitted that being a better person had been made possible by everyone’s support.
