Gemma Ward Weight Gain Hinted To Pregnancy? Before And After Photos

The fashion industry is always looking for new and outstanding models to walk the runways of its most esteemed events. Modeling companies follow predetermined standards in their quest for quality, especially when it comes to the physical characteristics of their models. Extreme thinness was considered the ultimate priority when it came to model expectations before the emergence of the body-positive movement.

For a considerable amount of time, this limited conception of beauty and body norms was in place. Being attractive used to be associated with being a size 0. The audience’s main concerns were about Gemma Ward’s weight increase being made public. When it was thought that Gemma Ward had put on weight, she received a fair share of remarks and criticism. Furthermore, there was a correlation between her weight swings and her pregnancies in 2013 and 2017. Gemma Ward’s weight gain has also recently been connected to rumors that she was pregnant. As of this writing, she hasn’t disclosed that she is pregnant, though.

Gemma Ward’s Eating Disorder Explained

When Gemma wore a denim bikini on the Chanel runway in 2007, she faced a lot of difficulties. Critics noted how her body had altered, calling her more attractive and implying that she had put on weight. In addition, they mentioned that in comparison to her prior appearances, she seemed a little bigger and somewhat bloated.

She had a difficult year because of the criticism she received from news organizations and internet communities. More hardships arrived in 2008 when Gemma’s boyfriend, Heath Ledger, passed unexpectedly, leaving her grieving deeply. She was persistently hounded by paparazzi, who took pictures of her on a private beach in a swimsuit.

The model’s weight was the subject of scathing media comments sparked by these photos, with one headline calling her a “Roll Model.” Gemma experienced what felt like public humiliation at the hands of the media, and finding modeling assignments got more and more difficult. Working with a model that was viewed as “big” and “bloated” appeared to be difficult for the industry. Her mental health and sense of self-worth suffered greatly as a result.

Gemma started to experience body dysmorphia and an eating disorder at that point. Agents for Ward responded to her challenging circumstances by advising her to keep quiet and step back from the spotlight. As a result, Gemma decided to put her health first and give up modeling in 2008.

Gemma set out on a path to treat her eating disorder and body dysmorphia, a malady that warps one’s sense of self. Her recovery and her return to control of her life took six years. 2014 saw Gemma make a comeback to the fashion scene, shocking everyone in 2015 by kicking off the Prada fashion show.
