A 42-year-old Berkley, California man named David DePape is accused of hitting Paul Pelosi with a hammer. The attacker is presently being imprisoned without bail in the county jail of San Francisco.

Paul Pelosi’s residence in San Francisco was broken into early on October 28, 2022. Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi is married to Paul, an American businessman.

Paul was sent to the hospital since he was seriously hurt while the attacker was placed in police custody. David DePape, 42, was recognized as the guy who reportedly attacked the businessman while brandishing a hammer.

David DePape: Is He Arrested? Arrest and Accusations

In the county jail in San Francisco, David DePape was lodged. He has been accused of attempted murder (homicide), intimidating a family member of a public official, stopping a witness from reporting a crime, and burglary, assault, and elder abuse.

The attacker is detained without posting bail.

Furthermore, it is yet unclear why the assault occurred. According to several sources, David yelled “Where is Nancy” as soon as he entered the House. According to reports, Nancy was in Washington, DC, when the incident took place.

David DePape, who? His Nationality And Parents

The attacker who struck Paul Pelosi, a businessman, has been named as David DePape.

The 42-year-old suspect is now a resident of Berkley, California. Gene DePape, David DePape’s stepfather, told CNN that he was born and raised in Canada but that he moved to California for a relationship about 20 years ago.

Mark DePape, David’s uncle, was at a loss for words and unsure of his feelings. David has not heard from him in more than two decades.

Mark also hoped the story about his nephew allegedly attacking the wealthy guy was a lie since he didn’t want to hear anything like that.

Additionally, the suspect’s admittance revealed that he seemed to be a person who was disconnected from reality. Additionally, he often posts conspiracies and memes on his social media accounts. The majority of postings discussed Covid, the 2020 election, and the assault on the capital on January 6.

David has an aggressive speaking style, according to Teresa DePape, his stepfather’s wife, who spoke to CNN. She had no idea he was a violent guy, however.

She noted that the suspect was a kind young man who just expressed his ideas. Teresa thought David was a huge Burning Man event enthusiast.

DePape was well-known in his community as a pro-nudity campaigner, according to Yahoo News. He reportedly protested in public while unclothed against rules requiring individuals to wear clothing.

The 42-year-old shared a residence with Gypsy Taub and her family, another nudist campaigner. He is also known for creating hemp jewelry and acting as a father figure for Gypsy’s three children.

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, the group that resided with DePape participated in the promotion of conspiracy theories at the time, such as the notion that 9/11 was an inside operation.

What happened to Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi?

David DePape broke into the Pelosi family’s home on the day of the event. The 80-year-old merchant was challenged by him and then struck with a hammer.

The spouse of Nancy Pelosi was admitted to the hospital with head surgery and blunt force injuries. He is anticipated to recover even if there hasn’t been an update on his status.

The Pelosi family is probably still in disbelief. We hope the businessman recovers quickly.
