Paul Washer, is he ill? Learn more about his health in 2024 as rumors of the American Protestant Christian evangelist’s heart surgery circulate.

HeartCry Missionary Society’s founder and director, Paul Washer, is a well-known preacher and missionary who has visited several nations to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

In addition, he is well-known for his stirring and thought-provoking sermons, such as the “Shocking Youth Message” he preached in 2002.

Many of his admirers and friends, nevertheless, may be concerned about his health, particularly because he had an urgent surgery-needed severe heart attack in 2017.

Based on the data that is currently accessible from reliable sources, we will offer some updates on Paul Washer’s health in 2024 in this post.

Paul Washer: Is He Ill? Update on Illness

Given that Paul Washer has been coping with several health concerns for a while, the answer to this question is complicated.

In his own words, he has been afflicted with several illnesses, including chronic pain, which have interfered with his ministry and quality of life.

He disclosed during the G3 Conference in January 2017 that he had been incapacitated for many months due to an undisclosed illness, which kept him from preaching.

In addition, he said that using powerful drugs left him feeling “like a zombie.” A few months later, in March 2017, he almost died after a major heart attack that occurred at his Virginia home.

Washer had emergency surgery to open a clogged artery after being taken to the hospital by ambulance. Before being discharged, he stayed in the hospital for a few days.

Since then, he has been recuperating steadily and has been picking up his ministerial duties piecemeal. He has also been sharing his narrative of God’s kindness and grace with patients in the hospital, serving as a witness.

But there have been some difficulties in his recuperation. His hospital release was postponed in April 2017 due to a serious skin response he had to several of the drugs he was receiving.

To control his heartbeat, he also needed to have a defibrillator implanted in his chest in May 2017.

He has also been dealing with adverse effects from the defibrillator and the drugs, including exhaustion, nausea, dizziness, and memory loss.

To minimize stress and strain, his physicians have also recommended that he curtail his preaching engagements and travel.

Paul Washer’s Health in 2024: Specifics of His Heart Surgery

Paul Washer is still alive and serving the Lord as of November 2023, although his health is still unknown.

He just had a successful heart bypass operation. He had been getting frequent check-ups and testing before surgery to evaluate his heart health and modify his medication.

In December 2023, he said, he was supposed to have another heart surgery to change the batteries in his defibrillator and maybe have a bypass or stent implantation to increase blood flow.

He requested prayers for discernment, direction, and safety at this time.

Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation for the help and inspiration he has gotten from his friends, family, churchgoers, and ministry associates.

He expressed gratitude to God for granting him the opportunity to live and serve Him each day. In addition, he expressed his excitement about, if the Lord permits, giving a sermon at the G3 Conference in January 2024.

He expressed his desire to impart some of the knowledge he has gained through his hardships. Additionally, he said that although he is not terrified of dying, he is somewhat secure in God’s promises.

He said that he is certain that God is reliable and sovereign, and that everything would work out for the welfare of His people and His glory.

He said, “I love you all,” to wrap out his update. I appreciate your prayers. Gloria Soli Deo!
