With his family and younger sister, he moved to the United States when he was six years old. Umansky enrolled at the University of Southern California after a few years of study but dropped out to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.

He began his business career at age 26 by selling a clothing brand for a substantial profit. After that, he joined his brother-in-real-law’s estate firm, Hilton & Hyland. His first sale was a $7.5 million mansion once owned by Kyle Richards, the ex-husband of his wife.

In 2011, Umansky started The Agency, a real estate agency. He is the current CEO of a company that has sold over $1.5 billion worth of a real estate. His reported net worth is at the $100 million level.

His company focuses on high-end properties in Holmby Hills, Malibu, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood. He has managed transactions involving rock star mansions, the Playboy Mansion, and the Disney Estate.

The Agency’s CEO and Founder, Mauricio Umansky, married RHOBH star Kyle Richards in 1996 and has three children with her: Sophia, Portia, and Alexia. Their oldest daughter, Farrah, is the daughter of Richard and Gurrish Aldjufrie, his first wife.

The former couple wed in 1988 but separated in 1992. They own a home in La Quinta that they purchased for $2.35 million in 2014. In October of 2017, the couple spent $8.2 million on a home in Encino, California.

In 2022, the home was ultimately sold for $6.5 million after being put up for sale in 2017. The couple paid $3 million for a home in the Los Angeles district of Bel-Air, where they filmed RHOBH.
