Brendan Fraser won the 2023 Academy Award for Best Actor, and social media is ablaze for two reasons. First, we are all thrilled for Brendan because he has won such a prestigious award after years of hard work, and second, because of his autistic son Griffin Arthur Fraser.

The Whale actor praised his sons during his victory speech. When it was Griffin’s turn, Brendan gazed up at the sky and said, ‘I love you.’

This piqued the interest of many people, and a popular search term is “Is Brendan Fraser’s son dead?” We’re here to give you the complete story.

Is Brendan Fraser’s son still alive?

No! Brendan’s oldest is still alive and well. To everyone who started looking for Griffin Fraser following his father’s Oscar speech, he is OK and nothing has happened to him.

Griffin Arthur Fraser, on the other hand, is on the autism spectrum, as Brendan disclosed in an interview with GQ magazine in 2018. “He needs extra love in the world,” the Mummy star remarked, “and he gets it.”

He went on to say,

“[He is] a curative on everyone who meets him, I’ve noticed,” the actor said of his son. “People have some rough edges.” I’m not sure if he just manufactures them…bring things into closer focus, and perhaps find a way to be a little more kind. They don’t prioritize themselves as much around him.”

Brendan has been an outspoken advocate for families caring for autistic children since his diagnosis. Furthermore, whenever he interacts with fans, he makes an effort to reach out to people that have autism.

Brendan Fraser has how many children?

Brendan had three children from his former marriage with Afton Smith: Griffin, Holden Fletcher, and Leland Francis Fraser. Griffin, Holden, and Leland were born on September 17th, 2002, August 16th, 2004, and May 2nd, 2006, respectively.

His three sons are now adults. Furthermore, Holden and Leland followed their award-winning father to the 2023 Academy Awards. We can tell how much dad adores his sons just by listening to him speak.

Brendan and Afton were also married from 1998 to 2009. Everything began to go apart for the actor after his divorce from Afton. Fraser was virtually broke from divorce alimony to spousal support. Fortunately, he is now back on the big screen and doing fantastic work.
