Liz Torres is most recognized for her role as Miss Patty, the local dancing instructor in Stars Hollow, in the Gilmore Girls television series. However, Miss Patty was completely different when the show was revived as a Netflix revival in 2016.

In the Gilmore Girls remake, the 73-year-old actress astonished her audience by showcasing her amazing weight loss while portraying her enduring character.

Torres has always harbored a secret wish to shed some pounds. She also acknowledged in the 1990s that she didn’t like how she looked since she was “heavy” to the Los Angeles Times.

Torres’ circumstances were so bad that she didn’t even bother to look at fashion publications since they had pictures of items she couldn’t bear to wear. She acknowledged that she had always wanted to be thinner and that being overweight may be harmful to one’s health in the same interview.

Liz Torres’s Net Worth

Liz attracted no attention because she was “heavy”

Being a Latina from Puerto Rico in Hollywood presents its challenges. She has had to deal with numerous stereotypical roles due to the tendency of society to stereotype people based on their physical attributor to attain where she is now.

Even as a professional, Torres had trouble getting her point over on set. It appeared as though no one was interested in what she had to say. She handled it well and supported every heavy cast member and crew member she came across.

Started her weight loss journey in 2008

Torres realized she needed to lose weight early, so she started working on it in 2008. After starring as Connie Solis on The CW’s Desperate Housewives, she started dieting but kept her distinctive personality features.

On the first night of the Broadway production of It Must Be Him in 2010, Liz Torres’ weight loss had advanced to the point that she was hardly recognizable.
