Instagram model Gena Tew just shared an update with all of her admirers after announcing a few days ago that she had been diagnosed with HIV and was fighting it.

The model told a tabloid that she had undergone poor eye surgery and was now completely blind in one eye. Gena underwent surgery to regain her vision in Memphis, Tennessee, in August 2021.

Her restored vision at the time only lasted five days before her eye illness resurfaced. According to the model’s statement to TMZ, the disastrous treatment left her eye blind, and all she can see is total darkness.

She also related how she became ill after taking all of the prescription drugs given to her by doctors. The model also said that doctors are thinking about yet another operation. Gena Tew, though, asserted that she hasn’t made up her mind yet.

Though it has been a while since Gena Tew discovered she had HIV, the latest news is encouraging because doctors say there has been a considerable improvement in a number of areas. Gena can now use a walker to help her walk. Additionally, the woman has put on weight.

She used to be 90 pounds, but today she weighs 105 pounds. Gena Tew started her own GoFundMe campaign shortly after being diagnosed to raise money so she could move closer to her family.

Gena believed that staying close to her family would speed her recovery. The model has received about $16,570 from 518 donors as of this writing on GoFundMe.

Gena Tew is my name, and I’m fighting AIDS. Fibrosing mediastinitis, a rare lung ailment, claimed my only sister on June 8th. She left a husband and three young children in her wake. She was only 29 years old at the time. To be there for them, we are now seeking money to move where they are. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I appreciate it very much.

Gena Tew provided an update on October 23, 2022, indicating that she had been able to buy a new house and pay for her medical expenses thanks to the contributions.

When did Gena Tew disclose that she was HIV-positive? Investigated are the Instagram model’s age and other factors.

According to Gena Tew, she received an HIV diagnosis in August 2022. She made the news in a TikTok video where she talked about her disease and how she was close to passing away before her doctors identified her condition.

She added that she didn’t know who had infected her, but the doctor who diagnosed her stated she had been sick for eight to ten years. The model must have been around 17 or 18 years old when she contracted the virus because she is now 27 years old. Gena provided the following explanations of how she might have contracted AIDS:

“I’ve had a couple free tattoos, so it might have been a dirty needle,” the person said. Do any of those people look familiar to me? No. Did I speak at the time those things happened? No. because I was young, stupid, and inexperienced.

She also said in the video that she told everyone of her love partners about her sickness so they could get checked out as well. None of Gena’s partners, though, have tested positive so yet.
