Since 2002, Brian Cox has been married to Nicole Ansari, an actress. He is most known for his performance as Logan Roy in the HBO series Succession. His marriage to her produced two sons: Orson Jonathan Cox and Torin Kamran Cox.

The actor was formerly married to Caroline Burt, with whom he shares custody of his two elder children. Their names are Margaret and Alan Cox.

Brian Cox wed his first wife at a young age

About his first marriage, the actor wed at age 24, which he deems to be “far too young” for marriage. But, in his October 2021 book Placing the Rabbit in the Hat, he explained why he married Burt despite knowing he was too young.

Despite a difficult background, he expressed a desire for stability and “normalcy” in his life. To make a long story short, he witnessed his father’s death when he was eight years old and his mother’s hospitalization following a mental breakdown.

“I desire the stability a marriage and children may provide. “After everything I’d been through, I desired the normalcy of a house and a family,” Cox explained.

Following eighteen years of marriage and the birth of two children, the Scottish actor and Burt separated. He also revealed in his book that he struggled with fatherhood during his first marriage due to his lengthy absences.

Often highlighted is the age gap between Brian Cox and his current wife

Cox and his wife, Ansari, are satisfied with their current relationship. In the meanwhile, the couple has encountered hatred and harassment online due to their 23-year age gap.

As of this writing, the actor, who was born in June 1946, is 75 years old, whilst his lifelong wife, the daughter of a German mother and an Iranian father, is 53.

The age difference between the pair does not appear to be a problem. The spirit of Ansari is considered to be ancient, wise, and normally at peace, whereas Cox is perpetually active.

In addition, the award-winning actor discussed the topic in his previously mentioned book. He initially stated that he married a young woman in his 50s because he was “better prepared” for fatherhood.

He discussed this,

“I have attempted to make amends for all that has occurred in the past with our two sons. My career is no longer always my top priority. Maybe I was more prepared the second time around.”

Cox then implied that the couple’s age did not matter because “Love is love” and Ansari was (and still is) the love of his life. Cox and Ansari have been in a relationship since their 1990 meeting in Hamburg.

At the time, the actor was acting in the title role in King Lear. They began dating in 1998, and she moved to London a year later to be with him. The rest, as they say, is history.
