The late renowned Formula One racer Niki Lauda’s first child is Lukas Lauda. With his first wife Marlene Knaus, Niki gave birth to his son Lukas. Despite being a celebrity child, Lukas has never made a big deal out of his media appearances.

In the meantime, Mathias Lauda, Lukas’ younger brother, has carried on his late father’s legacy. Currently, Mathias competes for Aston Martin Racing. What does Lukas Lauda do, though? Now, where is he? These are a select group of typical queries that are made often on the internet.

Here is all there is to know about Lukas Lauda, the late Niki Lauda’s son.

Birthdays of Lukas Lauda’s parents and siblings

Father Niki Lauda and mother Marlene Knaus welcomed Lukas Lauda into the world on April 5, 1979. Many sources have indicated that Lukas was born in Salzburg, Austria, but other sources, including a blog site, claim he was born in South Africa.

Lukas was named after his father, Luca Montezemolo, who was a close friend of Niki. He spent the first two extraordinary years of his career at Ferrari working alongside Luca as Sporting Director.

Regarding his ethnic background, Lukas is of mixed racial and ethnic heritage. While his mother Marlene is of Chilean-Austrian ancestry, his father Niki was an Austrian native.

Lukas also has a younger brother named Mathias Lauda. Like his father, Mathias is a Formula One driver. Although Mathias has had a long career in racing, he hasn’t yet accomplished as much as his father did during his career.

His parents’ separation

Before divorcing, Niki Lauda and Marlene Knaus, the parents of Lukas, were wed for more than 15 years. The two allegedly met in 1976 at a Curd Jurgens party and hit it off right away. The two were secretly wed on March 11, 1976, after only a few months of courting.

The ex-husband and ex-wife had two children in quick succession and had a long, blissful marriage. However, their love reached a snag after they celebrated 1.5 decades of marriage. By the early 1990s, they had split up because they were unable to get along. Nearly 20 years after their wedding, in 1996, Niki and Marlene officially divorced.

Additionally, Lukas Lauda Has Three Half-Siblings

Lukas Lauda has one biological brother and three half-siblings, two from his father’s second marriage and one from his extramarital relationship. Niki, the father of Lukas, allegedly had an extramarital affair with his mother. In the 1980s, Niki gave birth to a boy with her who was named Christoph Lauda.

In the year 2008, Niki wed Birgit Wetzinger, his second wife. Niki gave birth to twin girls, Mia and Max Lauda, with his second wife.

As of 2021, their children, who were born in 2009, will be 12 years old. Birgit, Niki’s second wife, was 30 years his junior and a former flight attendant.

In 2019, his father, Niki Lauda, passed away at the age of 70

The three-time Formula One champion and Lauda’s father, Niki, passed away in January 2019 at the age of 70. The legendary racer passed away on May 20 in Zurich, Switzerland’s University Hospital. According to reports, he died peacefully while sleeping, and his family chose not to disclose the cause of death.

The race car driver has received two successful kidney transplants despite suffering several injuries and once having a crash that almost killed him. His second wife, Birgit, served as the second kidney donor for the late racer, while his brother provided him with a kidney during his 1997 transplant.

While battling lung disease in his latter years, Niki allegedly got a successful lung transplant procedure in 2018 at a facility in Vienna, Austria. The five children Niki had, his widow Birgit, and his ex-wife Marlene all survived him.

Lukas Lauda: What Does He Do? Does He Manage Soccer?

Lukas doesn’t follow his late father’s work route, as we already mentioned. He has no interest in driving in races, although for a while he managed his younger brother Mathias. According to reports, Lukas managed his brother up until their father’s passing; it’s not clear if he still holds that position, though.

In addition, there have been rumors that Lukas manages an Austrian soccer team. We haven’t discovered any evidence, nevertheless, that Lukas is connected to soccer.

His secretive nature causes his personal life to be in the shadows

Lukas Lauda avoids the spotlight at all costs. He doesn’t frequently appear in the media and avoids using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. He does have an Instagram account, but he has made it private. These considerations completely shield the media from his private life.

There is no information about his spouse, even though he looks to be the father of a child on his Instagram display image.

How Much Wealth Did Lukas Lauda Inherit From His Father After His Death?

It’s a little challenging to predict Lukas Lauda’s current net worth and earnings because of his unclear professional path. But because he was Niki Lauda’s first child, Lukas earned a sizable inheritance after his father passed away. It indicates that Lukas Lauda has a net worth of millions of dollars.

When he passed away, his late father was a multimillionaire. Niki Lauda’s net worth at the time of his passing in 2019 was $200 million, claims Celebrity Net Worth. According to the website, he received a sizable $1 million compensation from Brabham-Alfa Romeo in 1978. After accounting for inflation, the sum is equivalent to $4 million in the present day. In addition, he owned several airlines, which made him extremely wealthy.

Niki Lauda, though, reportedly had a stunning net worth of more than $550 million, according to The Sun. The source disclosed that after Niki’s passing, the German publication Bunte published information on his fortune. Niki’s will was discussed in The Sun as well.

Niki Lauda first drafted the will in 1997, deciding to leave his entire fortune to his two sons, Lukas and Mathias, as well as his ex-wife Marlene. But it was later modified twice. The first time was in 1999 when he stipulated that his estate would be distributed after his death by four trustees. Attila Dogudan, a longtime friend of his, was one of them.

In 2014, Niki made one final significant alteration to his will by including his second wife Birgit, and their two children. Niki set aside a sizeable quantity of money for his first wife, Marlene, and his son Christoph, but the remainder of his wealth was distributed to his four children and second wife.
