Bobby Shmurda (real name Ackquille Jean Pollard) became well-known after the release of the chart-topping song Hot Nigga in 2014. The song gave him an improbable contract with Epic Records and reached its top position of number six on the Billboard Hot 100. Late in 2014, Shmurda’s debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote, was made available.

Shumard, who was 19 at the time, was widely regarded as one of the most gifted rap prodigies in the United States. His success was slowed down by his arrest and imprisonment for possessing firearms and conspiring to murder. Bobby received a seven-year term from the court, but due to a successful parole application, he will be released in late February 2021.

Where was Bobby Shmurda born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family

Bobby Shmurda was born to Gervase Johnson and Leslie Pollard in Miami, Florida, on August 4, 1994. Pollard is American-born, whereas Gervase is Jamaican. Bobby’s father, Johnson, received a 120-year prison term two months after Bobby was born. Leslie decided to move the family to Brooklyn, New York, as a result of his imprisonment. Bobby stated to Complex that if Johnson had not been imprisoned, the family would likely still be in Florida:

“Down south, my dad was imprisoned. In essence, I would have grown up in Florida had he not been imprisoned. My moms moved here after my dad was imprisoned. However, my uncles and grandparents are still living there, so I continue to travel back and forth. I think of myself as a cross between North and South.

Accusations of murder and robbery led to Gervase Johnson’s imprisonment, according to public police records. Johnson’s incarceration had no impact on his friendship with Shmurda. Bobby disclosed to Fader that he still keeps in touch frequently with Gervase. Johnson’s standing in prison was boosted as a result of his accomplishment, he further disclosed. He stated to the media:

He did indeed say, “I see you on TMZ! Anyhow, that’s it! Now that he knows a nigga has him, he doesn’t need to be hungry anymore. Yeah buddy, mi a celebrity pon di ting.

Bobby will rest up before going back to the studio, according to Bobby’s mother

On January 12, 2021, Leslie Pollard, Bobby Shmurda’s mother, posted on Instagram to mark the impending publication of her son. She commented, next to a picture of Bobby, “I am counting down just praying we could run straight to February very quick.” I’ve been waiting to hold my child for almost a year, but my nervousness is getting the better of me.

According to TMZ, Bobby will have a private supper with his family as soon as he is released. Bobby is eager to get back in the studio, according to Pollard, but he intends to ease himself into recording music gradually. Bobby also intends to properly follow the requirements of his release, which include communicating with his parole officer regularly.

Before Bobby entered prison, Leslie Pollard functioned as his manager; it is unknown at this time if she will continue in that role. She currently runs a seafood restaurant, a vehicle rental agency, and a cosmetics company in Brooklyn. Bobby Shmurda aided in making sense of Bobby’s tirade about not being paid in October 2014 in her capacity as his manager. She told Billboard that there had been a miscommunication:

“It’s not that he isn’t being paid; rather, it’s just that he is new to the industry. Before receiving money, he had to move up the chain of command. Of course, they keep it, and he performs the show. The traveling accountant receives it next, followed by his company manager and finally him.
