Esteban Loaiza, a former baseball star, has recently been freed from prison after serving a three-year sentence for cocaine trafficking. According to US Attorney Brewer, his connection with drugs jeopardized his status as a sought-after athlete.

Furthermore, the former Chicago White Sox star, a multi-million dollar net worth MLB player, has his fans wondering how much fortune he has today, after more than a decade of terminating his baseball career.

What is the Net Worth of Esteban Loaiza? Salary, Earnings

To begin with, Esteban Loaiza was not your typical player at the time. Beginning his career as a 1995 MLB draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates, his magic in the football arena was obvious from the start.

His brilliance earned him a sizable fortune while at Pirates, with an average annual pay of roughly 227 thousand dollars, boosting his net worth throughout his four-year tenure with the franchise.

After leaving the Pirates in 1998, Esteban headed to the Texas Rangers, where he continued to perform in football arenas until 2000. Esteban spent the next two years with the Toronto Blue Jays, beginning in 2000. Until that, he was already on the list of MLB sportsmen with millions of dollars in net worth.

In the final year of his contract with the Jays, the baseball pitcher reportedly earned more than $6 million per year. He went on to play for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, and Los Angeles Doggers after leaving the Jays.

While he was already at the pinnacle of his profession, his career has shone even brighter since his stint with the Chicago White Sox. He had a stated net worth of 44 million dollars when he retired from the game in 2008. He’s unquestionably terrific at pitching, but it turns out he’s not so good at managing his money.

Esteban’s net worth has decreased to 5 million dollars, according to CelebrityNetWorth, following a decade of his once-cherished career path.

Of course, five million dollars is a significant portion of his wealth, but it would have been a different story if he had used his tens of millions properly from the outset.

However, the former MLB player’s repeated involvement in legal difficulties began to overshadow his illustrious career.

Esteban Loaiza has been arrested for drug trafficking

For a long time, the player has been plagued by legal troubles. Esteban Loaiza was jailed for drunk driving in 2006 after being found speeding in his Ferrari on a California freeway.

In 2018, he made headlines once more after being arrested for possessing 44 pounds of cocaine. The former athlete was detained in San Diego and charged with three felonies for drug-related activities, according to USA Today.

According to sources, his detention was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The narcotics inquiry led to Esteban’s involvement in illegal drug activities, including his possession of $500,000 in cocaine.

Esteban’s arrest came as a surprise to everyone who knew him, and several of his close friends also spoke out about his detention. On that point, his agent, John Boggs, commented on the matter, saying,

“I am startled and horrified by the news, and I had no idea he would be in this predicament. I’m not sure how he got himself involved in this, so commenting on it is difficult.”

After being released from a federal prison in Seattle, he was immediately deported to Mexico, where he has been living quietly with his partner ever since.

Esteban Loaiza- Relationship, Married Life

Many people believe his current girlfriend is a ‘new wife.’ However, he has not declared his marriage in any way. He is now dating his long-term girlfriend Ross Labra, but she might be his ‘new wife.’

Since his huge breakdown due to legal troubles, the former athlete has avoided social media and kept his personal affairs private.

However, Esteban’s previous romances are public knowledge. To begin with, his first marriage, too late singer Jenni Rivera, lasted two years and was a big source of media attention for a long period.

He is also said to be the father of Sage, a boy from his former relationship with Ashley Esposito. Despite his history of troubled relationships, he appears to be in a good place with his probable ‘new wife,’ Ross.
