The two-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo’s spouse is a topic of great interest to fans. The London-born singer and actress debuted on Broadway in Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple in 2015.

As the lead, Celie, Erivo captivated audiences and earned standing ovations every night; in 2013, she took a limited global run of the show and resumed her role.

In 2016, the production received a Tony Award nomination for Best Revival of a Musical on the same night that her performance was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical.

She and the cast of the show won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and a Daytime Emmy for their performance on The Today Show.

In the 2019 film Harriet, Erivo portrayed Harriet Tubman, for which she was nominated for two Golden Globes in 2020. Her second medal was for Best Original Song, which she wrote for the musical “Stand Up.”

Cynthia Erivo’s spouse: A timeline of their marriage Mario Martinez included

Although Mario Martinez and Cynthia Erivo do not yet have a wedded union, they do have a unique affinity.

The actress from Harriet and Mario got together when she was dating actor Dean John-Wilson. Their relationship began in 2013.

When he was playing Prince Ali in the West End version of Aladdin in 2016, she was spotted with him on the red carpet.

Thus, before she met Mario, she had been dating Dean for around three years. Despite not being an actor, Mario and I were in the same field and saw each other every day.

In 2019, she disclosed to Vanity Fair that, despite her relationship with Dean, Mario continued to pursue Cynthia.

Eventually, when she and Dean had broken up, he struck gold and made his big move. After their separation, Mario approached her and planted a kiss. That was how the couple originally got together.

By the time the narrative was released in 2019, they had been dating for two years. This implies that they probably started dating in 2017. They seemed to be in love as they went to the Krug Event in Miami together.

Cynthia keeps her romantic life very private. But in 2019, she did dedicate a few special posts to him. One of them was a monochrome Valentine’s Day message she sent to him declaring her love. She also wrote him a lovely birthday note.

Some people thought they had split up because she removed those posts at the end of 2019. It’s not a sure thing, though, and the two may still be content in their relationship.

The actress’s admirers can all hope that she gets married soon and that we get to meet Cynthia Erivo’s husband soon.

The beginning of Cynthia Erivo’s career

Born in 1987 to Nigerian immigrants in London, Cynthia Erivo started her career as a stage actress at the age of 11. She had some popularity as Juliet in the Young Vic youth production of “Romeo & Juliet” at the age of 15, and she also appeared in a number of commercials.

Cynthia Erivo had intended to go to college to study music psychology, but she decided to stay and train at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art after having a fortuitous meeting with her Young Vic director.

She portrayed Deloris Van Cartier, the lead role in the UK run of the musical “Sister Act,” which was adapted from the Whoopi Goldberg film from 1992, in 2011.

Ironically, Erivo’s performance as Celie Harris in the 2013 London production of “The Color Purple,” a role Goldberg originated in the 1985 film adaptation, led to another staged musical portrayal of the character.

Erivo was the only cast member from Britain to travel with the production to Broadway in 2015, where he performed in the same role as Jennifer Hudson.

She got a recurring role in the historical drama “Mister. Selfridge” (PBS/ITV, 2013–) following her on-stage success. Her breakthrough roles have been in the oddball drama “Bad Times at the El Royale” (2018) and the Gillian Flynn and Steve McQueen picture “Widows” (2018).
