The couple was a little taken aback to learn about the pregnancy because Travolta and Preston had been trying for Ben for three years.

Kelly Preston was silent at Benjamin Travolta’s birth.

Preston and Travolta were Scientologists, and they used some of their beliefs in the birth room, when Benjamin was delivered via cesarean section.

However, Kelly’s pregnancy with Ben served as a major source of material for the media because the general public was obsessed method of peaceful delivery, or “silent birth.”

Preston had raised concerns about the contentious practice of silent birth used by the church Scientology. At the time, the SpaceCamp actress disclosed that she was not allowed to talk while giving birth to her son Benjamin. She seemed to enjoy the rigorous childbirth practices of Scientology and said her kids were raised in a “calm and peaceful” environment.

Kelly disclosed that she was not allowed to converse while in labor because, according to religious beliefs, the noise made during childbirth can have long-term effects on the child.
