Barnaby Kay is a well-known actor who has worked in both Hollywood and the theater. Among his notable roles are ‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Midsomer Murders,’ ‘Conspiracy,’ and ‘Shakespeare in Love.’

His love of performing not only won him a successful professional but also lead him to meet his wife. Barnaby and his wife have a passion for each other and acting, which has led to their on-screen collaboration.

Barnaby Kay’s Wife: Who Is She?

Nicola Walker, Barnaby Kay’s wife, is a well-known actress. The pair married in 2013 and has grown from two to three with their son, Harry Kay.

It’s worth noting that their connection lasted longer than their marriage. They met on the set of ‘The Libertine,’ and began dating soon after.

Their relationship progressed from days to months to years, and they were soon approaching their 20th anniversary, but Nicola still had no band on her finger.

You could believe the ‘Spook’ actress felt let down because it’s practically every girl’s desire to have a romantic and spectacular proposal and wedding.

The actuality, however, is quite the contrary. It turns out that the wedding didn’t excite Nicola. That’s why she and Barnaby thought about it for 20 years.

While Barnaby has not stated his position on weddings, Nicola has stated openly that marriage seemed more like a workday for her.

She stated,

“The entire wedding ceremony reminds me of going to work.
Putting on a nice dress and make-up, learning lines, having your hair done…
If you don’t do it for a living, I can understand why it would be appealing “.

To be honest, that makes sense from her perspective. As a result, there was no extravagant celebration on their special day. Instead, they held a secret ceremony attended by just close friends and family.

We guess Barnaby Kay and his wife would make a fine couple with or without the nuptial ceremonies, given that they are still going strong as ever.

They decided to marry, though, to provide security for their son. Their son is now 16 years old, and Nicola recalls how his arrival altered their life.

She stated,

But you have no idea how much your life will change. It does change, but only for the better. While it was not a problem for Barnaby, his wife was concerned that she might not receive job offers after having a baby.

But everything worked out OK for the actress, who is currently working in the profession. The remarkable duo is supportive and understanding of each other, owing to their shared professional background.

When Henry was a baby and Nicola needed to be on set, Kay would take care of him and keep him in his arms in a caravan offset so that his partner could concentrate on work.

Nicola’s wedding may not have been a dream come true, but she did land a dreamy spouse in Barnaby. Kay has been quite inactive in the industry in recent years, but you can see Nicola Walker in ‘The Split’ and ‘Annika.’
