Loss of Life From a Lasso to Andres Vasquez

Andres Vasquez-Lasso, 32, was the cop who passed away, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. According to the authorities, on Wednesday at 4:43 p.m., police from the Eighth District responded to a domestic-related complaint regarding a person carrying a gun in the 5200 block of South Spaulding Avenue in the city’s Gage Park area.

Later, the caller allegedly reported that a man was following a lady down the street while brandishing a pistol, according to Chicago Police Supt. David Brown. One set of officers went to a home’s front door once they arrived, but a second squad vehicle found the suspect on foot, the officer said.

Authorities said that when cops got out of the squad car, the armed guy began to flee. According to Brown, shots were fired at close quarters. According to the authorities, the officer was hit many times.

When the suspect retaliated later, the officer shot him in the forehead. The victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. According to Brown, the officer was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Brown said that the inquiry was still ongoing and mentioned that films from other cameras, ballistic evidence, and body camera footage were all being studied. The incident’s use of force is also being investigated by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.
